step one:
find somebody who is
beautiful, kind, charming, intelligent,
witty, caring, and
broken

step two:
fall so in love that you are convinced
that no matter how many problems
this person has,
they are absolutely perfect

step three:
when they break down and show you their scars,
hold them when they cry,
kiss them on the cheek,
and make them tea

step four:
when they tell you they wish
they weren't so ****** up,
and that they wouldn't blame you
if you walked away

promise that you'll stay

step five:
realize that just staying is too inadequate,
that everybody says they'll stay
then has their bags packed in a week

immediately upon realization,
swear that you will not-leave
because staying requires no change or effort,
while not leaving is a risk

step six:
let the person know that they are worth that risk
i'll probably delete this in later
i'm in a psychology class
and all i've done is take too many tests
about my personality
and grouch over partner work
but i can't help but love it
the human mind works in any ways we think
if we can think it
i could split my brain in half
and still be fine
i learned too much about anxiety
and now i think everyone has it
most of us sure as hell do
i've seen the subtle human power moves
all it takes is standing up
standing while everyone else is seated
creates such power
everyone in the room has to literally
look up to you
yet i've still taken too many personality tests
been too afraid to score my IQ
been too
anxious
to see how anxious i really am

Why are there so many words?
Who comes up with them all?
Why don’t we know them all?
Are there just as many words in other languages?
I’m writing, and am just realizing how many words there are.
Too many to count.
Yet, why are we so divided?
Why don’t we all speak the same language?
Wouldn’t that just make life easier?
Everyone could understand everyone else.
No more Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, or German…
Just plain English.
Or Latin, or Mandarin.
Whatever everyone wants to speak.
How many words would then be eliminated?
It’s crazy to think about that…
Yet interesting and calming…
To think that everyone could speak the same language…
Everyone use the same words.
Would that be simpler, or more complex?
She sits there quietly, my dear
she's afraid that no one can hear her
She looks and listens
but never speaks
for if she does
she'll be cast out with the freaks

But who's to say a freak is not something to be?
To be anything
anything at all
is at least something to be

But even with something to be
she isn't quite satisfied

So you show her the sky
She looks up at the sun
and wishes for the night
She looks up at the moon
and wishes for the world

For you see
dreams, aspirations, and adventures
were made to be
for the quiet little girl
who wanted nothing more
than the
whole
wide
world.
