Fallen

I've fallen for you.
If you don't plan on catching me,
please don't let me down too hard.

And their happiness makes me sad.
I don't want to be 'that one girl who won't just let it go.'
But I can't let it go.

And something deep in the back of her mind aches.
Yes,
That one part from so long ago.
She almost had forgotten about its existence.

Almost.

Every time she tries to forget,
It gets hungry,
And he craves the attention he thinks he deserves.

And they say she's 'weird.'
They say she's 'different.'
They make it sound like a bad thing.

Little do they know what is bubbling over,
Beaneath the surface.

And I want that message to be from you.
Even though you and I are from two different worlds,
Even though I'm going to say no,
I want to be wanted.

I want what I can't have.

haunted girls
with whiskey smiles
and miles
of hate behind them

they don’t care
what they’ll come to
for you
will never mind them

haunted girls
with whiskey smiles
you ******
them out and kissed them

but they’ll be
gone before you
even know
you’re gonna miss them
unfinished?
You’re the kind of girl
That makes heaven regret
Ever letting you go
It was the biggest mistake
Since She took a bite of the fruit

You’re the kind of girl
To make honorable men better
And scoundrels too
You’re one of the angles God personally knows
He sent you to save the world
From hopelessness and
Lack-luster dreams

You’re the kind of girl
Makes an optimist a realist
Because you’re really here
It’s not just hope in his heart

You’re the kind of girl*
Movies are made of,
Flowers are bought for,
And lives are lived

i probably fell in love with you
the moment you asked if you could have
one of my menthol Marlboros
it's too bad
the closest i'll ever get to you was
the moment you lit your cigarette
off of mine, inches away
from my face
it's too bad
i wouldn't let you get closer
even if you tried
it's too bad
she gets to call you hers
it's too bad
i'll probably never see you again anyway.

Once I read a poem
Quite a long time ago
It wasn't especially happy
But it was also no tale of woe
Just a tired reminiscing of tomorrow
A future dreaming of sorts
Where one may freeze a dream
And melt it when you're old
Soaking your weary feet and relaxing
In the thawed memories of youth
In a world where one may
Freeze a dream
Perhaps they could bottle up my hopes
I'd store mine all in mason jars
And old liquor bottles
Then when I feel dark and down
I'd crack one open and drink up
