Earth

The earth is a place of magnificent beauty
It's a place of wonder incomprehensible
Our beautiful mother sustains us all
Our beautiful pearl in the milky way
Perfectly positioned
So that we may live
And so that we may thrive
And learn
There are a lot of things
That people do
To harm the Earth
And to harm our mother
But she loves us all the same
Even with the wars
Even with the diseases
The poverty
The ignorance
And even with the pain
That comes from living
And growing
The earth still supports us just the same
In her loving embrace
So we should start loving the Earth
A little more
And caring a little less about war
And violence
And ignorance
And start paying
A little more attention
To the Earth
Our mother
Because she wants to heal
And sing
We just have to start listening

The
Lighthouse
                         Lonely,
                                     Lamented.
Standing atop,
                         I contemplated
                                                   Emptiness. O

I wanna walk through the doors of the rest of my life.

I wanna see through the glass on the other side.

I wanna bring home the magic, if I have to, I'll fight.

They told me; you need to step through the door, no matter how hard at first.

You need to break through the wall, and walk to the sky to reach the star in your eye.

No matter how hard the fight, no matter how hard the dream.

You'll take you there if you just believe.

As he slept she noticed the way his lashes fluttered with each intake of breath.
The way his hair fell across his forehead.
He stirred, his baby blues searching her eyes.
"What are you looking at?" He mumbled at her as he pulled her close.
"Nothing..." She whispered into his chest.
As he nuzzled her neck as his breathing slowed as he fell back to sleep with her wrapped in his arms.
“I love you.” She said to his sleeping outline as she finally drifted off to sleep.

She puts her hand in his back pocket.
I know they're going home together tonight.

She's about as predictable as a fortune cookie (everything always ends in bed.)
In three days she'll forget the whole thing. (I wish everything in life was that easy.)

I stood in the sun
and thought of you
and of my junebug heart.
It clings on, unshakable,
even after it’s death.

And you like that about me,
my junebug heart that is.
You think you have one too.
I know that you don’t.
Yours is fleeting.
