I've been getting sicker
skinnier
if you missed me
Michigan moon
how I envy you...

To spend each night with her
soft reflected in her eyes,

you see all...

You are the highlights in her hair
the light flush upon her cheek

you are the smile she flashes a friend
and you are there

you see all...

You are the slice of lemon in her drink
the comfort see seeks on sleepless night
you are memories of childhood

you see all...

Michigan moon
forgive me my envious nature

show to me but once her smile
that I too may bask in it's natural beauty

and pray

Let me see all.
****** Smily Face by billyraines08

This one, to her, seemed different.
She seldom met artistic Huns..
She thought his little mustache cute,
his smile, a winning one.
With charcoal he made sketches
when his duties were all done.

A man, she thought, of courage.
He wore the iron cross.
It was a time of hell on earth-
so many young lives lost

Perhaps her judgment was impaired
by the alcohol that she consumed.
The sixteen year old French girl
took Adolf ****** to her room.

In time she gave birth to a child,
a ******* if ever was one.
A boy they named Jean Marie Loret-
The Devil’s only son
An elderly French man claims Adolf ****** was his father
You hold me deep inside my bones
with thoughts that wander
to be born again
each morning.
Yesterday whispers
until my body sings
to be seduced
and I fall in love with you
once again,
without warning.

You are a spirit,
one could say,
delicately racing
through all I reach out
to feel.
Each night you rage
like an ocean
inside the softest image,
and all my heart can do..
is humbly kneel.

Silver field shimmer in the moonlight,
Silver field glow,
Silence, in the face of the lady,
As she bathes the world below.

Cool and Pale, her gift she gives,
Never forced but enraptured,
Serene Siren of all with a heart,
Grasped at, but never captured.

A cube of ice resting on my tongue

                       I inhale

                                    It cools my mouth

Press the cube against my teeth until it hurts
Then gulp coffee and listen for the shatter

                                                                               There is no sound

Only the understanding that pain has layers

I can hurt in just as many ways as heal

Kiss me bitter devil

I know I will feel guilty when I leave you in the morning

But I will leave you nonetheless

You loved the way my mouth tasted when it was cold

                                                             You shivered

From the kiss or the cold

                                                                                                                I don’t know

But you shivered
               And I lied
                 So you would shiver again

And you loved me like a liar

An ice cube on my tongue
                      I chilled you
Killed you a little more than
                                                                                             Le petit mort

Sometimes

                                            Corpses can have goose bumps

You cold again?
Or did you see a ghost
After you found my side of the bed empty?

I never said I’d stay for breakfast

                                                   I never said I’d stay

There are just as many layers to hurting

As there is healing

Sometimes I can’t tell the difference

Hurt me like a lover

Who is frigid and fearful

Until we temper our bones to burning

And listen for the shatter

It never comes

And I always leave
                                                                     First thing in the morning
Not only is this a first line poem with a wonderful donation from lp, but it is a serious (beer induced) experiment in structure. Thank you so much lp for inviting me to play!!!!!
