Frenzy

She makes the sand,
the sand seep away.
Little locket on her chest,
with her steps a gentle sway.
Though her eyes cast
a tender gaze,
her fiery heart sets the sky ablaze.

Dry rain and dry puddles,
never will she stop.
'Til she stumbles to her knees,
the dusty ground, fiercely hot.
She cries out in pain
and laughs through tears,
a withered smile
of withered years.

She sees me.

Her faces relaxes,
her lungs give out,
her limbs betray her
and with one final strain she says:
*I can't hate.

I'm standing at the kitchen sink
The curtains are yellow and white
The light is cast on my face
As my eyes drag towards you
And a laugh tumbles out
It's without my blessing
And your teeth show from ear to ear
One tumble leads to another
Like a lady gymnast
And now we are tumbling together
The slap of your hands
They are greeting the kitchen table
I'm doubled over with happiness
And we just keep meeting
Over and over again
The linoleum is dented
With a million footsteps
Where we danced together
Twirling like a ribbon girl
Where I stirred the batter
That made your burnt birthday cake
And I'm barren, unable to conceive
But, we are each others babies
Our crib is each others arms
You take me as I am
Like the ugly wallpaper
In the upstairs bathroom
If I have love, this is what it will be like.

Like two candles at a romantic dinner,
let us dance forever.
We do not know when
our wicks will end.

I saw you in the clouds today
A wispy summer hide-away
Tonight I've nothing else to say
I saw you in the clouds today

This afternoon I felt your hand
It made me tremble where I stand
Dreaming daylight, waking man
This afternoon I felt your hand

(In early hours I miss you most)
Out from the distance, growing close
I miss your heat, I miss your nose
(In early hours I miss you most)

One day soon we will be there
Together in the crackling air
And maybe all we'll do is stare, but
One day soon we will be there
Just for you, Sarah :)

Thoughtful, happy folk around
a campfire, making music in-
between the stars in their eyes
and those above
This summer. There must be a tour.

Impossibly close, I'm
beginning to believe you were
actually here with me, dreaming
away all doubts
The echoes of your presence
remain

It is surreal. I can feel you.

Not so much vulnerability as
          wide-open hearts because
ten years from now we'll look back at
where we are and note the
                                 change in what's around
with a smile, if I have
                                                                 anything at all to
                                                                                 say about life

that's right.
                             We.
