It’s a hot serum of truth
scalding more than my tongue
it burns you and only you
on my heart as it goes down
as if I was the one who needed
the punishment

Every night I lie awake

Every night I start to quake

Every night I ache for you

Every night, you know its true

Every night i am insane

a bursting mind, infected pain

I feel want to come to terms

When very night that she confirms

She will calm this rigid boy

On a shady path with no deploy

Now every night i lie awake

but every night there is no pain

No hurt no loss no kind of shame

I lie awake, and i am sane.
These words were found
Not just bouncing on my tongue
But snug in my heart, next to the love
Your presence has sung.

From midnight choirs
To daytime showers
I sing these phrases, these tunes,
And the bearing fruits
Are golden memories of you.

I should be praying to end world hunger
Or some sort of lasting world peace,
But only one song of mine rings
From me on my knees:

Lord, guide me to her, for she
Is the only vision these eyes open to see

You never know how you shed cheer
Into my life through all the year,
I love your poems, those hymns you play;
None save you can brighten each day.

Life without you would be such pain
I should never write poems again,
You will ne'er know my love for you
Until after this life is through.

You cuddle cats within your arms,
And make us happy with  your charms,
I'm so happy God gave me you!
You cheer me up when I feel blue.

You'll never guess, Daddy dear
How oft you've vanguished every fear;
Brightened my days with divine Love
For you I thank my God above!

Supposing that we lit some candles.
One for each person on this earth,
we would blow one out at a funeral
and light one up at a birth.

The world would grow darker
every time we lost a fighter
but with every new born baby
it gets just that bit brighter.

If you travelled into a city that was dark and gritty
you'd know that they didn't have many in their committee.
But.. If the light was brilliant and bright
it would send a beaming message throughout the night.

Saying "We are here! And we are alive!"
Not wanting to be alone we endeavor to collide
and form one giant, shining beacon
that burns so fierce we're sure it can't weaken

We sparkle and crackle and bend nature to our whim
the mighty fire so strong it just had to gave in.
With it we forged iron and buildings, cars and computers
and lit paths of lives to guide commuters

We lit up the universe as far as we could see
Improving our lives greatly with technology
obsessed with our professed fixture on practicality
we completely forgot about morality

Our fires forged weapons which we aimed next door
In one swift movement we saw the effects of war
6,000,000 candles extinguished
over arguments on which light is most distinguished

So fixated on this light we blinded our eyes
and the candle smoke filled the skies.
We thought candles were good, they elevated us higher
but now all we have is thick smoke and fire.

The fire consuming all in its route
the root of our lives follow suite.
It's eating the oxygen and burning the grass
the sand is melting and forming to glass.

The glass it shatters into a thousand pieces
more candles are lighting, the temperature increases
The resources decline, as do the candles
buried in ash a hundred thousand scandals.

Now only a few lit candles remain
as they slowly melt and fade away.

O, i wish i was a writer,
woven fine words and let all hell break loose.
Or a  sensuous dancer,
pranced on the rhythmic applause.
Definitely a great musician,
harped upon the melodies of life.
But am just a ****** peddler of thoughts,
in some old forgotten mossed lane,
beating the drums
& creating cacophony of my dreamy tales.

keep me here,
keep me distant,
keep me near,
keep me listening,
don’t leave me,
don’t touch me,
walk with me,
don’t take my hand,
let me lean on you,
don’t lean back,
talk to me
make me laugh,
take my joy
take my sorrows,
don’t give them back,
I wish for you to be,
just not with me,
I’ll show you my smile as I walk away,
you have not touched but a morsel of my thought,
and not entered the room of my world,
where I live is a shell you shall not see nor be.

I am better and more whole away from the shores of your sea.

Latching the guitar
Treating her so bad
Not realising what he had
Nor understanding
But frustrating
Imprisoning

Tightened the strings
Tried to scratch on his name
She didn’t give way
Stood up
Walked away
Left him in the mud

Running through darkness
Emerging hands from dirt
Grabbing groping
In their graveyard of ambition
But failed to grasp her music
All her beautiful notes

The path I’d taken
Left my heart forsaken
Like her I was breaking
We met on this road
Looking with vanity
So nice to see
Naïve for not realising
What we could be

Glancing at me
Her strings like a palette
Made me smile with glee
The music she played
Was in my heart too
I wanted her with me
So I plead

We can see the world together
I won’t hold you with a tether
Please just rest upon my back
You’ve spent too long on that rack
Life is simple by this way
For I will tune you every day
If your string shall ever break
A new one with my voice I’ll make

You were always the same
In everyone’s eyes
But what’s perceived is different
To me you’re perfect
Each string is beautiful
From the highest chord
To the softest strum
Each makes my heart jump.

If you come as softly
As the wind within the trees
You may hear what I hear
See what sorrow sees.

If you come as lightly
As threading dew
I will take you gladly
Nor ask more of you.

You may sit beside me
Silent as a breath
Only those who stay dead
Shall remember death.

And if you come I will be silent
Nor speak harsh words to you.
I will not ask you why now.
Or how, or what you do.

We shall sit here, softly
Beneath two different years
And the rich between us
Shall drink our tears.
