Glimpse, you are such a sight.
Shimmerring when loved.
Dark and gloom when despised.
Pure as heaven, radiant and bright.

Mesmerized, i am to rest my heart on yours.
Bewitched, my scent merges with yours.
Your eyes throw a spark as you touch me.
Heavenly passion i own to set me free.

Brown eyes, you shine as night grows darker.
Come shine your light on me.
This love so good yet severe.
Night-veiled i walk and feel the earth beneath me.
Those dark brown eyes continually told me lies,
Those dark brown eyes only said good-byes,
Those dark brown eyes told me stories of our common glories,
Those dark brown eyes sighed when my heart died...

They are strangers now, separated by their worlds and walls.
There is no chemistry, no spark, nothing special.
They are simply strangers, sharing a couch.

One is autumn, one is spring;
one likes talking, and the other? Listening.

If walls could talk, they’d weave a tale so tragic.

In the beginning, he was sun, and she was moon.
At the ending, she was running, but he was leaving.

In the beginning, there are many things.
There is music, and laughter, and broken strings.
They have cooperation, and commitment, and promises.
Her mom gives them glasses, his mom gives them dishes.
She has her charcoals, he has his guitar.

At the ending, close to the ending-
There is his guitar, her laughter, they’ve broken things.
And that is all that is left.

Promises and glasses, dishes and hearts.
A year of trying and losing is written on the walls;
the wallpaper- peeling, the curtains- ripping.

He clears his throat, she stills- hoping.
“I’m sorry,” she hears, and it’s okay.
“I’m sorry,” she hears, “that it’s ended this way.”

I’m sorry, she hears. I’m sorry, that it’s ended this way.
I’m sorry, she hears. That it’s ended this way.

“It’s ended this way?”
“I’m ending it this way.”

posed on the rocks
my madonna

twists her ankles
and knees in

the whitewashed
masterpiece

unpainted
and uncertain

the waves
lay siege

they only want
to lay under your feet

a thousand voices
assail from the sea

they too, like me
only want to be slain

by unending beauty
still unconscious

to me
and a clothed manufactured happiness

the wind
only wants you to undress it

and bare all its love
in nakedness

and just as the forest
dances

to be a gleam in you eye,
jamilah, so do i.

"Where are your gloves?"
A man with watery blue eyes,
And steaming black coffee asks me.
I almost cannot hear him over the brutal wind,
The city taken by storm.

He leans closer and whispers,
"They are giving some away,
Under the bridge."
As if I know exactly which bridge he is speaking of.

Winking,
He continues past me on the street.
Homeless,
But fortunate in his kindness.

These people here today
They need a place to stay
They have nowhere to go
Nowhere to call their home
And so we must pray
That they will find a way
Back home
Back home
They'll find a way back home
Back home
Back home
A place where they can be
Back home
Back home
A place where they can be
Free
Free
Free
I know they cant find a home
And so they'll always roam
Away from where you are
They'll roam ever far
So that's why we must pray
That they will find a way
Back home
Back home
They'll find their way back home
Back home
Back home
A place where they can be
Back home
Back home
A place where they can be
Free
Free
Free
There's a sun in the sky
There's a moon up above
And yet we all find ways
To deny God's love
Moving ever far
Moving ever away
From our home in the sky
With this home filled with love
So we must be willing to
Find our way back home
Because if we don't
We will stay alone
Alone
Alone
Alone
We must find a way
For our hearts to stay
So that they will never roam
And we can find a home
Back home
Back home
We'll find a way back home
Back home
Back home
A place where we can be

A place where we can be
