I once

Lost myself for you
Out on a limb reaching for you
Viscously fought for your attention
Expecting the worse hoping for the best
Didn't expect what you brought to the table

You walked right through me
Over my heart and through the forest you went
Used me like a love song

I once

Made you my all
I knew better
Shame on me
Shame on you
Everyone knew
Didn't see it coming

Yelling for closure
Outsmarted by your games
Utterly humiliated

I once

Forgot how to live
Evenings alone
Lusted for onces touch
Told myself never again

Alive in the midst of death
Living of the old memories
Inviting the reaper in for a cup
Victory wasn't an option anymore
Everlasting joy swallowed in darkness

Can you hear me?
Of course you cant...

You're too busy...
trying to breathe life into my screaming lungs.

But your twisting silver tongue
can never undo the damage that's been done.

Build your sickeningly silky and slick
web of words and hypocritcal contradictions.

Keep scratching the scabs if they keep itching,
but keep in mind they will start bleeding.

Dance my puppet dance,
because it make my princess laugh.

Among this aftermath,
her smile is all that I have

She plays softly by the moonlight
In mournful solitude surrounded by mist
With the moon listening to the violin's song.
The notes caress the stars at night
As the violin sings with her tenderness.
The night carries the music along.

She comes alone at night to sit by the lake
And pour her heart into the violin's strings.
The violin's voice haunts the nighttime air.
She plays a song of longing that makes her heart break.
Her spirit weeps as her violin sings,
While into the night rises a song of despair.

The moon and the stars lend their ears
As the solitary maiden comes to play
And the mournful notes take flight.
They listen until the sun's greeting nears
And the tune finishes with the birth of the day,
But will be started anew when her violin sings at night.

Did anyone tell you, you can stop holding your breath now?
It's all clear, the fights over, your not gonna drown,
I think they forgot to tell you, It's okay to stop running,
Yeah, its silent but stop humming.

Your lips were blue and your hands were shaking,
You said the rain would do you good,
A breath of fresh air was all you were needing,
Just know that I did all I could.

Just know that I did all I could,
But no one could rescue you from the cold,
It stuck to your skin in the darkest of weather,
Darling you were soaked.

My hands could not calm your shaking,
My words could not warm your heart,
With each breath that you are now taking,
Someone else falls apart.

What I would give, to see through your eyes.
To see what you see.

Do you see a poor, feeble, translucent being,
somone who could never be with you?
Or do you see a quietly, proud and unique woman,
worthy of the writings of Maya Angelou?

When I enter a room, you are all I see.
But what do you see? Do you ever see me?

I want you to see the hole in my shirt
where your heart went through like a Colt 45,
and opened a dream at the back of the neck.

Here,
let me unbutton it for you.

and I heard the song you sang
but
I never understood the hidden meaning
such a fool, I was
to be decieved
by your lingering voice
12/14/11
why does it matter
what i put in my mouth
or who i push myself into
as long as neither involves you
