Square peg round hole
Teach me a trick old timer
I really want to know
When it comes to cows
Or horses it's hard to lie to you
I caught habits my mother hates
Plugs of tobacco
Liquor bottles
Old timer show me
How to get the top
From the bottle of the barrel
One day you'll die
You leave me your tools and guns
Your truck I can't bring myself to clean out
For in my dreams I still find you
Cleaning pig pens by lamp light
Whistling Dixie
everyone
has the right
to be

to make choices
to take a stand
to think

to work for their
own reasons

to value
what they value

to believe
what they believe

everyone has the right
to a life of the body

and a life
of the spirit

even if the crowd
says they don't

even if the government
says they don't

i'll dance in the streets,
cry in them, saying

who god bless
no man curse

Maybe I'm trying
To grow up
A little too
Fast, because
When you push
Me against the couch
And arrange me
The way you
Want,
I never seem to
Have the courage
To softly speak,
"Stop"

But

I just think
Maybe,
I tried to grow up
Too fast, and now I'm in
Over my head
Screaming only to myself,
"Stop"

This isn't me
I wear a mask
to hide my face,
to be what they want,
to please everyone else.
This mask is growing heavy
but i can't remember who it is beneath.
