Pools

You're pool is full
You've gone too far.
You're learning the difference
Between easy and hard.

Your actions are reckless
And insides the same.

It's hard to accept it;
Why things change

Be calm, be steady
Put that razor down.
Empty your pool
Of hatred and doubt.

Don't listen to their words
Use the ear that's inside

Fill your pool
With the will to stay alive.

Have you ever
Noticed
A time where
Everything
Yes, I mean literally
Everything,
Just falls into
Place?

Where time stops
For a second.

You can't do
Anything,
At all.

Your eyes
Can't look
Away
And your
Brain
Doesn't want
You too
As your
Heart
Begs for
The image to
Stay.

Have you ever
Noticed
How I
Get lost
Every time
You walk into
The room?

Have you ever
Noticed
That I almost
Hang on your
Every next
Word?

Have you ever
Noticed
That when I'm
With you
Everything
Yes, I mean literally
Everything
Just falls into
Place?
Why is it, that the vilest of temptations
seek to violate my mind, during moments…
of weakness, solitude and prayer time?
Is it not enough that my inner person
has been consumed with the filth of my flesh?
How much longer must I wait for the body
of incorruption that will suit me in eternity?
Though I can’t seem to stop sinning,
is it wrong to want to curb its unwanted flow?
These temptations appeal to my carnality,
but I find their continuing stream tiresome.
Spiritual perfection is an ideal, that cannot…
be achieved in today’s earthly journey.
And yet, to utterly give up and intentionally sin,
will never be an improvement of my fallen condition.
How much training is required to reject ungodliness?
O, Lord, please strengthen my spirit to capture
and discard these thought contaminations…
by making my flesh permanently dead to their allure
and by always drawing me ever closer to You!

I've been thinking lately
That not everything is correctly
Thought over or treasured
Stuck in the endeavored
Nine to five schedule
That most claim is the devil
And can't seem to think
That there's more than ink
On a paycheck
Or a car wreck
We convince ourselves
To put feelings on shelves
And disregard all
That don't fall
Right into place
Right in our face
And keep us from working
Or keep us lurking
Around for a better us
Longer than we fuss
Or believe we must
Stuck in our lust
From clubs and dancing
To money and prancing
Pretending we're better
Than those who write a letter
Out of hopes to reach someone
And get help for what we've done
I hope we wake up
And fill our cup
With hope and happiness
With fun and a happy dance
Rather than judgement
And being hellbent
On being hateful
Be joyful
And live.

Save me for I am weak.

Strength is secretly what I seek.

Kneading in and out these nights of pain.

My strong face is only a feign.
This is about the girl who fell in love with the moon.
Resting against the cold glass window at night
To get a glimpse of the light on the side she laid eyes on
And wondered about the darkness she would never get to see.
This is about the girl who fell in love with the stars.
Watching them sparkle and shoot across the sky.
She shed a tear knowing these stars were long diminished
And wondered if she as well would leave such a lasting mark.
This is about the girl who fell in love with the rain.
Falling fast asleep to the quiet drops on the pavement
With colors forming through the heavy mist,
And wondered if she could ever be as beautiful as a rainbow.
This is about the girl who fell in love with the ocean.
Sinking her toes in the sand while breathing the salty air,
Noticing the fish swimming easily through the blue water
And wondered if she could glide through life the same way.
This is about the girl who fell in love with the sun.
Lying in the swaying grass, feeling a soft breeze on her cheeks
Only to be shaded by the birds flying free under the light
And she wondered if she could one day be as free.
This is about the girl who fell in love with solitude.
Curled up with the dusty pages of her favorite book
Reading of the lover’s who share their lives together,
And wondered if one day she might share her solitude.
This is about the girl who fell in love with you.
With the way your body wrapped around hers,
How you could command a room with the warmth of your smile
And she wondered if one day she could call you hers.
This is about the girl who fell in love with too many things.
Realizing none of them would ever be hers,
Knowing she had no one to share them with.
And she wondered if she would always feel so alone.

Hello, you,
I cannot sleep,
you fell fast
before I could
even say goodnight.
I hope your dreams
are sugary sweet,
like eating
candied apples
with views
of autumn leaves.
I'll let you rest
your little head
upon your warm
and cozy bed,
no disturbance
from me, you'll see,
instead i'll leave this
poem here for you,
the one you'll never read.
