Between the Lines
Alexis Weaver Oct 2016
after "every single day" by John Straley

Am I a fool to believe
that the sun rises and sets
over the phrase "King Salmon"?
I wrote Solomon
almost every time.
I love this poem as I love you
awkwardly, wanting to entangle myself
in the things it says;
the things you don't say
and the smiles IĀ imagine you giving
my eyes flitting,
playing in the spaces between
every single line
a response poem for a response poem
