Is it safe to assume I'm forgotten?

Is it safe to
assume this feeling will pass if I
only go to sleep and dream it
away?

It is safe, now
close your eyes.
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
  By the name of ANNABEL LEE;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
  I and my ANNABEL LEE;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
  Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
  My beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
  Went envying her and me—
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my ANNABEL LEE.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we—
Of many far wiser than we—
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE.

For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
  Of the beautiful ANNABEL LEE;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling, my darling, my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea—
In her tomb by the side of the sea.

I imagine he's in a graveyard
He's beckoning me in.
I see his warm, sweet smile
And I question what's a sin.
He's playing in the bones I see
Among what we've found lost.
I want so much to join him.
I'm weighing what's the cost.
Mom said he'd be in sunshine
I'd find him in better days.
In the springtime I look around me
In the winter I just pray.
My friends say he's inside of me
But they don't really know.
I can't even picture who he is
To the graves I have to go.
Some said I'd find him in first love
I'd find him and so much more.
Love left me cold and broken
I forgot then what life was for.
He's waiting in the graveyard
I know that's where he'll be.
All my life I've looked for him
As I'm sure he's looked for me.
There are so many people on the Earth.
Some he looks for in the rain
For some he looks in sunshine
For me he looks in pain.
I'll find him in a rope and chair
Or maybe in a lake.
When you have nothing left to lose
You have everything at stake.
I'm betting on the graveyard.
I have nowhere else to go.
The outside voices don't understand
They have what I don't know.
This is my goodbye for now
This is how I pay my toll
To find the happiness I never knew.
This bullet through my soul.
I'll see you in the graveyard
That's where my sun does shine.
I'll find him waiting there for me.
In a grave marked only mine.
It's never quite right, he said, the way people look,
the way the music sounds, the way the words are
written.
It's never quite right, he said, all the things we are
taught, all the loves we chase, all the deaths we
die, all the lives we live,
they are never quite right,
they are hardly close to right,
these lives we live
one after the other,
piled there as history,
the waste of the species,
the crushing of the light and the way,
it's not quite right,
it's hardly right at all
he said.

don't I know it? I
answered.

I walked away from the mirror.
it was morning, it was afternoon, it was
night

nothing changed
it was locked in place.
something flashed, something broke, something
remained.

I walked down the stairway and
into it.

Its crazy how quick love makes things better,
My mom was so sad this morning,
Because my dad had left to go to Arizona.
But, just a few minutes ago my dad called.
You should have seen how quick my mom got happy.
Smiling, and singing, as she cleans the kitchen.
Just the sound of his voice was enough to make her dance.
I'm glad my parents love each other so much,
Because my grandpa says that so few marriages make it anymore.
My friend Alyssa's parents are divorced,
And its sad going to her house.
Her mom is never singing,
Or dancing or smiling.
But, I'm not afraid of my parents getting divorced.
The look on my moms face was enough to prove
That she loves my dad too much,
And the nice things my dad is constantly doing for my mom,
I know he loves her so much too.
Just one little phone conversation meant so much.
Its crazy how quick love makes things better.

Music I heard with you was more than music,
And bread I broke with you was more than bread;
Now that I am without you, all is desolate;
All that was once so beautiful is dead.

Your hands once touched this table and this silver,
And I have seen your fingers hold this glass.
These things do not remember you, beloved,--
And yet your touch upon them will not pass.

For it was in my heart you moved among them,
And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes;
And in my heart they will remember always,--
They knew you once, O beautiful and wise.
It is quiet here
An eerie silence
As if we were in the time before time
When God reigned alone
And humanity was naught but a thought

Life, such a trifling thing
Fleeting, brief
Like a flash in the pan, or a shooting star
A moment, quickly forgotten
By the powers above

Silence, accompanied by darkness
The darkness you can feel, a solid wall
Where you can't move, can't breathe
Can't do anything at all
But feel terrified, of those in the dark

Those things, wrought by your fear
Undefined, unnamed, but immensely powerful
The darkest dregs of your unconscious are concealed here
Here, in the darkness
Where the monsters roam
