I'm loosing myself as the days go on
Like i'm holding onto an invisible rope
for dear life

but as the seconds pass
my grip gets weaker and weaker
I try to escape to my mind
but that's the worse place to go.

I criticize every inch of my body
while I tell others
"You're perfect"

I cry into a pillow at night
fearing I'll be a bigger disappointment
than I already am.

I try my best.
I try so **** hard.
but as the moments pass
I free fall through my emotions

Listening to people tell me
"just be happy"
as if it's the easiest thing in the world.

As if it's like walking a dog
but in my mind that dog is rabid
and just wants to tear me to pieces.

I keep smiling and smiling telling people
i'm fine

When in reality i'm lonely
I'm scared of
my thoughts
the future
my emotions.

i'm just scared.

but in the end,
I smile and say
"i'm fine"

as if this disease
wasn't eating my mind like popcorn
from a ******* movie theater.
may is mental health awareness month so I thought I would write something to show people what goes through someone's mind that deals with mental illness. (sorry for the swear words...)

5:24 am
You watch the night leave
And the day slowly creep in
Minutes passing like seconds
The days finally have meaning
Monday to Saturday
Your routine is strong.
Your eyes bright as ever
Your soul burning  its passionate fire
Your stomach is  full and plentiful
Your hands still as stone,
But in a blink of an eye
You’re thinking of ways
To occupy your time.
You take up reading but the words start to blend,
You try dancing but you have
Two left feet.
You’ve memorized
Song lyrics
to pass the time.
You let your mind wonder to
Places you’ve memorized,
Dances you’ve learned to hate,
Books you’ve read over and over again.
Your hands shaky as paper in the wind
Your stomach begging for pleasure.
Your soul gone,
Your eyes weak,
As you watch the day become night
Monday turns into Saturday.
Because before you realize
it’s 5:24 am;

The hours pass as my mind wonders.
The constant thought of sleep on my mind
As I listen to the clock
Tik.
Tik.
Tok.
Time passing me like miss opportunities.
I watch the clock arms going
Round in circles
12: 21 p m
2: 47 a m
3: 51 a m
I close my eyes in hope
Of shallow breaths and
Dreams of the future.
My sorrows gone,
with my even breaths.
My eyes closed but
my mind open and wondering.
As I listen to the constant ticking
Tik.
Tik.
Tok:
