When joy takes leave, friends betray,
fortune frowns as spring’s away,
When you are left to part
Alone to face the shattered heart,
You feel lost as never before,
But try once more and this time soar.
Wipe the tears and stop the crying;
The sky is the limit if you keep on trying.

Admiring our existence
in the past,
and remembering
every minuscule detail
of that day,
brings me
a euphoria stronger
than the euphoria
brought upon
from the strongest
of drugs.

I could not
bare
to look
at the pain
in her eyes,
which she averted,
from the
degradation
that stood before her.
I,
standing before her,
tried to
formulate
the words,
cautiously running
through the
ingredient list
of sincere
apologies,
that exist
in some
metaphysical representation
of what
I am trying
to profess.
If I just had you by my side, everything would feel right.
No worries or cares in the world.
Just love and happiness.
But if I had you by my side, I'd always have a grin on my face,
Even though I already should,
with or without you.
But you happen to be the cherry to my superman sundae.
No broken promises or heartbreaks,
just love and happiness.
Because if I had you by my side, everything would feel right.
I was in love with anatomy
the symmetry of my body
poised for flight,
the heights it would take
over parents, lovers, a keen
riding over truth and detail.
I thought growing up would be
this rising from everything
old and earthly,
not these faltering steps out the door
every day, then back again.
