The Line Of Indifference
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
These kids are too dreamy
These yards are too noisy
If this is the way
To get urban knowledge
I've crossed the line of indifference

The fires of the sun
Bright, leaving a hazy silhouette
And the morning is too lazy, to just do it
Goals keep my life intact
Now, I'm stuck in the periphery
Do you know?
Life was once lopsided
Good that grudges don't budge

So I'll cross
And make my mark
When it's too one-sided
And others say better to get side-stepped

Don't, let them step over you
Don't, let cold slumbers fill your eyes

I always liked to dance
When no one watched
It isn't easy to take back those moments

So, I'll walk the line
And take back those days
In a single second
Of consciousness

Before I go to sleep
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
These women
Languid and bare
Smoke my cigarettes
With a stare
Is it too much to ask
"Is it too much?", I ask
For us lovers
In this hopeless place
To a hopeless road
That leads nowhere
Where nobody recognizes
The homeless crowd on a lavender-scented road
Looking for another beer
Another cigarette lit up
She is still looking at me
"Where am I?" she asks
I tell her it's beautiful
As long as it ain't
Paris and hella far away
In some distant galaxy
Where they don't sell cheap *****
And cups of coffee for a remedy
She keeps pointing at me with her laser-like leer
I jeer and mock a bit
Begging her to talk a bit
Is it fair to keep a good gal
In your house, just for company
Probably not
But, hell it beats isolation
And paying for cigarettes and coffee
The women buy everything these days

Hard To Say I'm Sorry
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I meant to say sorry
So long ago
I wanted to nurse my heart
I cursed my ego
And hope you can love again

I guess
You know there is
Nothing else to say
But, to say you are sorry too

Dreamer
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I am travelling
The city
I am wandering
I can look at myself
In the puddles
And say it's a dream
I am not scared
Oh, the winter is nippy
So, are the pretty ladies
So, I packed and split
For the city
I am restless and drunk
Because I haven't loved
For a long time
Can dream for long
But, this love feels so wrong
Let's be friends forever
Or shed our sorrows
This love can be so right
We can be in this city
I am just a dreamer

Coal Mine
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
The lights were bright
The times were rough
The nights were gay
I hope the blankets are enough
It was up to us to guess
It was up to hope to rescue us
Whether there was rain and robbery
Whether there was pain and prayer
Whether there was ache and acrimony
We couldn't tell properly
You came to my life
To stir my true innocence
My love was disturbed
Like rain on sleeping buds
Laying on a bed of flowers
You were right next to me
To me help me treasure
The flowers opened up
To tremors of your heart
Without measure in vast repose
Of land half composed and disposed
To our creator, unperturbed

Death Do Us Apart
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I was sure
You'd be fine
If I caressed you
And held you in arms
So right
You left my heart bare
Omens are dark and close
Covering our love in despair
I was sure
You'd be fine
If we hadn't wasted time
Precious time

With Our Hands Empty
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
When I turn from my window
I am out of reach from your lonely street
I have no looks to give you
But, who cares when you wander frozen sleets
When you aren't there at the dead of night
I have people to talk to, constantly
But, who comes when it's time to call
When you are broken but always gone
I have spoken true lies and nothing more

But, who needs you
When you are their home
But, who needs you
When I'm not looking for you

I have made love in the night
But, who scares you
When you have no one to fear
You are a friend indeed
If I cry alone
Because you make me feel all vulnerable

I go back to my dead alley
Near a broken building
Overlooking a crescendoed bridge
A tower stands among us, unyielding
It could be you and me, babe
With our hands empty
Who will love you when I'm gone, babe
With our hands empty

Master Of Statues
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I will turn your
Destiny into plaster
When you find
Your servant is your master
You will be sculpted
By my hands and fingers
Painted lips of murmurs
The silence is almost colorful
Surely you will be a statue
A cruel work in a kind world
Made of alabaster
Wrapped around my finger

I need you to bare
Your soul and be ugly
Without being beleaguered
So do your duty

To call their mother
Because you have the heart

Who treats you like he treats
His mom, must be proud of you

Do We Need The Truth
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I am sure you would leave me in the snow
You wouldn't think I was too unkind
I am not too low
I am sure you have your reasons
I am not that warm
You would think I'm meaningless like rain
That's the cause of progress of the pain
You change your process
When you think about an inhibition inside
I have my own curious disposition
If you want to bestow forgiveness
It is all up to you
If they tie you up and let you loose
You can kick the dust and live it up
Their fights are a cause for exhibition
My story curls in my mind
Ties knots in your stomach
Much like snow stuck on your highway home
My love will heal your body
And send sunshine to your heart
But, it will poison your soul
And the heat will eat from inside
Like a star with insidious intent
Leaving us in oblivion

With such variety
Such a garden blooms
Eager, for somebody
With a personal diary
Eager, for somebody
I look for the truth
In the veracity of claim
That he loves people
As much as piano concertos
A subliminal cornet rings
Sibilant in harmony
Such is the rhapsody
Of my tender heart
That seems to flail vehemently
For my love
For my joy
For my ode to tocsins
Loud enough to wake up
The light of my life
Sleeping so softly
Like a lullaby
Like a Berceuse
Such a garden blooms in a myriad transgressions
Bearing the fruit of my age and labor
All found within a forgotten flower
He is that somebody

Aditya Roy Mar 2020
Your brother needs your arms
More than a hunger crowded street in winter
Untenable politics gets us tongue twisted
Witless and lamentable muse don't leave
'bandoning dreams of mine in America
Inamoring us all with her fair skin
A dollar for brown eyes sliced proper
A bruised boy for shining his shoes
Wishing he was in your shoes in this ragged route
Such purity in vice, rusts in dire strait
Despite, her lover she walks like us, you fool
Wither go you, fobbing and treading
Worthless heart is like yours and mine, but, time
Time takes all of us and buries leaves of grass

Oven-ready with same fragrance

If you give them too much love
You are too heavy for dessert

And start with conversation

Empty Child
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
I hate the situation
I hate spoken verse
And the unspoken words
Between us fools
Looking through hearts
The moon stands perfect
On this pale ice
Strumming a guitar
Produces a line of lurid
Effeminate rhyme
Just to pass the time
To go where I want to die
Just to feel alive in
Your arms where filled posh sofas carry
The cushion and comfort
The texture of a million rainy clouds
I can cry if I wish
For an evening in your apartment
Enough for rain
It will come again
I can cry if breath soon
Underwater among the promises loses meaning
Of being released for never have commited no crime
Having my life taken to freezing Siberia
Forever is a long time
For a prisoner of love
For a prisoner of war
Where everything is fairer
Than my mistress's judgement
Who lets me in to play a valiant song
As I stride through the city streets
I rise on the arches of Paris
Dreary Seine says goodbye once love lost
It was better to have loved than lost
This is the way it ought to stay
Instead of my head turned in like a signpost
Where they hang the scars of the past
Bodies, bodies, bodies
Do you know what is nothing
Have you known love
Beyond the loss of life
Pray that you lose everything
Before God showers you with everything
Leaving only, but, emptiness in life

You once told me
What happens,
Happens
Now I let waves
Crash and fall

Destiny resides
With the oyster
And pods of circles
Broken clay
That lay sprayed by salt-licked sea beds, untouched

Coral floors
Where you rest
Easy and placid
Lovely and silent
Like warm water

Is like a washed up sail
Caught in the whirlwind
Of fate
I had to brave storms
To stay afloat
Where I found your

Memory once more
And death in a much more
Mysterious way
In the heart of sudden tumult and solace

Let us go then, you and I
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient sky of placidity
Let us all unite, in mosque and harems
The sibilant retreats
Of restless memories of countless nights
And sawdust restaurants in truant sales motels
With a sample of seashells on the oyster shore
Of rebarbative reason
To lead you to impending death
Oh, do not ask for she is frail
Let us, make our foray

To make a brighter day
The men talk of James Baldwin and Malcolm X

Essay (Metaphysical Poetry)
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
Wanted to start with an honest take
On T.S. Eliot's fulmination towards criticisms
Regarding the debater, Mr. Grierson's
Point of view on metaphysical writings
In purview of genuine poetic dissertation and discussion
Presentation of the nuances of poems are intriguing
Wherewithal that there is a diligent approach taken
To study John Donne and Cowley
Marvell, one  of the social upheavilists
Of this time t'was real t'was true to naturalism
However, Goethe points out " in their unnaturalism they poised on naturalism"
There is a lot to say for Mr. Eliot's debate
Not too much for Mr. Grierson's review of some good old fashioned
Amorous verse, inasmuch it bewitches the languid sensuality

Often the purer and fairer opposite ***
Through genuine use of wit and impressive stoicism
A thoroughly metaphorical use of the term "stoic"
Can be attributed to the use of complex imagery
It would be interesting if one drew parallels
On the concepts of love and spirituality
It is expressed in reading that deals with rapid association of thought
English language canon and poetic implication are there, of course
Basically, what the poet is trying to say and the implicit understanding
Between a lover and a mistress
One could say it is a conversation or a nuanced conversation
Between the reader and poet
Such is the metaphysics of women and their love for genuine metaphor
It is often the velleity of the poet to write in such esoteric language
Therefore, one could understand the heterogeneous ideas potrayed
In each poetic verse of Donne's repertoire cannot be
Misconstrued as unnecessarily analytic
Almost like the dissection of a patient in surgery
The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts
Often, we fear death. Because we are scared of a cold death and how it feeds on others. We never know how peaceful it is that someday our metaphysics will be kept warm.

Hanging under the leaves

That fly away like refracted light

That runs love streams dry straws
Yet, I feel thirsty from all the work
When I wake up from you in the morning
You tell me to say so many things
Been there done that too soon
You heal a little too quick
You mean a little bit
I don't believe it really
Why should I believe myself *******
Let it start from when the Titanic sank
I remembered how you bellowed in agony
I remember
I remember
In the end, you wanted my money
We always told each other
We would never leave the fire burn out
When the fire burnt out
You wanted my coke
Bit by bit you wanted soap
When you became petrol king
Liquorice diva
A ****** with a heart of gold
A drug like love
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
There was a walking lane
To make you sad
I chose to take you that way
Through fields of grass

I chose to guide you away
From fear
To help us climb hills
Watch the sun rise in shelter

On a far off river
Your eyes were warmer
There were a flood of tears
And that brought us closer

The sun surprised us with summer's day
I like the lonely corner
I wish you come after
If the Sun became a kite runner

To see you cry
As it was
Easy to make you try
I wanted to bring you happiness

We shared many beautiful days
Now all of them seem like moments
When you are dead
The days are a collective of hours

It took all my power
To hold back my cotton flowers
My tears were now cold
And the fire had burnt out

The sun surprised us with summer's day
Winter on this lonely planet
Wouldn't feel same
If the Sun came down from it to get away

Say our love is like stargazing

Among the most beautiful galaxies
Bewitched like angels and air
Wrecking heart be still like
Earth wind and fire
Often birds fly during evening
These are some things we watch
As we have time to lay supine
Next to the frescoes of Jesus and Mary
Underneath the belly of a Basilisk
Vehement protest comes from the hall
They told us love is forbidden
But, the last kiss moves earth
This world is not ours
At least we have shared poignant time
I'll believe you'll say I hate corny jokes

On the bay of angels
I just saved us heartbreak
Sir, love and forgiveness
Le monsieur parle
We were on our way to the border
We put up a tent under a cliff
To escape the border patrol
"I stumbled across the Marseille postcard
Were you telling lies or you dissemble"

I took my horse, Monsignor
"Après mon coeur!"
Trinkets were for angels
As I implored desolate one save me
Those who believe in fool's glory
Say genius is the sister of poverty
Je ne sais pas commences
Cette chanson d'amour
After all, I love the country over riches

I could not speak its vernacular language
It just followed me
Like an orbicular with clerical precision
Taking an invigorating tour around us
The horse shared the wind
Free men: British, Hessian
Pen to the paper is too much stress

Of riches or compromise

You sit on the roses
I left on your sofa
Where we once kissed
I cannot determine the dreary poetry
Posies and poses were ardent
You sleep on my thighs usually
I bathe in thighs of supple sexuality
I love your hair, and the complex smell
When I smell the fragrance
The heart flutters
They used to say that desolate men need
Je te veux
I hand you nosegays
From the brick laid eyes of apartment blocks
Called windows, too open
That they let in a sporadic zephyr
The flowers, violets and red roses
Flit in the fuchsia scented wind
Flowers waltz as a goddess does
Maybe, that's why violets make you chuckle
Or maybe, I'm just lucky to loved by you

As we fly in the sky
If we sail through blue skies over pale oceans
I get an appetite for life
The birds sing with a fearful trill "Why don't you fly with us?"

As we sleep with the fishes
If we hold our breath as white sharks do
I get an appetite for living
The dolphins whistle "Why can't you sleep easy?"

As we dry up like ice
If my feet fall into sleet
I get an appetite for life
The polar bears roar "Why is it so hot these days?"

As we try to become primal
If I died hungry
