rain
Yelena Nov 2020
Pitter, patter, pitter, patter. The rain fell onto the ground, drop by drop. I lay there in the middle of the field surrounded by what seemed like never ending amounts of wet grass. My hair became soaking wet. My clothes were drenched. My brand new pair of shoes were soaked all the way through. But I didn't care. Not one bit. I laid down. I somehow found the rain comforting. There was no one outside. No one liked staying outside getting drenched, except me. The thought of how the rain was always there just above me crowded in the clouds waiting to be released into the big wide world was nice, how I knew they were always there. I felt bad for the rain though. How they had to stay crowded inside a single cloud until that cloud didn't want them anymore. Lying in the rain, I felt free. No one around me to judge, to give my ***** looks or to laugh at me being myself. Unlike at school, here I was free from everything. I got up from where I was sitting. I looked up, all I could see was endless amounts of rain just coming and coming. Wow. Just wow. Everyone at school would probably hate the rain. They would just wait for it to go away. But why couldn't they enjoy it while it lasted. Sooner or later it would be all gone. Just like that. Gone.
