You were a new star in the sky
A celestial phenomenon
Mysterious yet instantly familiar

I could only see you with my third eye
So bright, but ethereal
Truly divine, a majestic figure

Warmth and compassion flooded my being
A jubilant blissful rapture
In you my soul had found a partner

Suddenly, darkness. . . our light was fleeing
Hollow and lost I wandered
Living was suffering which only got harder

Floating through blackness a lifeless husk
Trying to relive the feeling
Now unable to see with my third eye

Hope starts to shine like a shimmering tusk
Faint crescent glow so slim and distant
My third eye opens to joyfully cry

Tenebrous fog swirls slowly apart
Fragile tether of a single ray
Touches my soul so faintly from above

The first time in this ether I feel my heart
The eclipse is over
We reunite in our quintessence of love

A slice of bread
Can smile at you
If you know
Just what to do

With a finger and a thumb
Pinch a bread slice
To make the eyes
Do a single pinch twice

Pinch pinch pinch
In a curve for the smile
After it’s pinched
Toast it for a while

Up it pops
And then you see
A face in your toast
Smiling with glee

So in the morning
Don’t be a grump
Make smiley face toast
To get you pumped

Time is a noose
And from it I hang
Answers suspended
From questions that sprang

Waiting for something
Unable to know
Frozen in motion
Just letting time flow

Violently helpless
Only time will tell
How long until heaven
Until then. . . in hell

A lightning strike
A sudden crack
Almost instant
No time to react

A single moment
Electric and fierce
Every part of my being
Feels a deep sharp pierce

I’m stuck in that flash
The heat and the light
It is now my forever
Intense and bright

Sometimes words are worthless
When emotion’s power
Kills the voice
Or stops the pen

Feelings so strong
Expression impossible
Yet I try
Futility

I wish my voice were water
That could bathe you in a feeling
I wish this ink were blood
So you could read a part of my being

So much to look forward to
So much between me and you
All the things we’re gonna do
I can’t wait to make them true

Squeezing lemons, dance-offs too
Road trips, camping, skies of blue
Stuck together just like glue
I can’t wait til time comes through

Into my life my soulmate flew
Hope and love are born anew
