You're not as great as you think you are.
Sure, you may have an abundance of knowledge
but, who have you taught?

You're not as great as you think you are.
Sure, you’re good looking and stand tall with great posture
but, who have you instilled confidence in?

You’re not as great as you think you are.
Sure, you have faith and pray to me when in need
but, who around you have you helped?

Caged 23 hours a day, granted one random hour in the sun.

This cell will not break me. I know who I am.

I was never the reason your face had a frown.

Or the cause of tears that flow like a river.

You shackled me, I'm tired of being suppressed!

I am the key that unlocks your smile.

I know that in life you must grow, but dont lock away your inner child!

A door without a ****.
A bank without a vault.

A window with no latch.
A cell phone with no password.

A model lacking confidence.
A love lacking trust.

Your words and no actions.
I’m blind and insecure.

Your mind is my home.
I find comfort here.
Images I've created decorate the walls.
Depictions of a death.
Frames embody a tomb for loved ones.
I thank you for the canvases provided.
Give me more ideas.
Your anxiety is my muse.

Once again we’re here.
Face to face.
Uncomfortable due to the lies we told each other.
I said you were beautiful, but I lied.
You told me I was ugly, but you lied.
Physically I am stronger.
I strike breaking you to pieces.
Only to my dismay.
Because now you’re telling me I’m ugly in a thousand different ways.

I admire your ability to trust.
Even though I am a knave whose actions are unjust.

Some will call you a fool.
Giving an unscrupulous individual your mind to rule.

I’ll never loosen my grip.
I am the captain of misery. I welcome you as a passenger on my ship.

Down the river we sail.
In your ear I tell stories about the paradise called hell.
