My Muse
08 - 10 (2019)

elusive self, that leaves me wandering,
my companion, 'tis deserted me so,
hollow are thoughts, devoid of coherence,
in thy absence, the mind frustrated,
all a forest of words and floating alphabets,
lacking compilation of a meaningful sentence.

if thy shall not visit me, as before,
diminished mind and thought, for sure,
then rest my quill forever, I must,
lost are excitement, thrills of creation,
partake I must, of your nectar, your elixir,
one last sip, to quench the final thirst.o
Creative juices have come to a screeching halt, and minds frustration, unbearable, so I seek alls forgiveness, sincerely above all

As all ENDINGS, MUST have a BEGINNING
For GOOD to exist, EVIL is inherent
TORTURED MIND demands reasoning
EFFECT is visible, so what was the CAUSE

The comfort of PEACE

Not knowing....
07/02/2019

not knowing what to say
I stumble for words, emotions on display

ask, and you shall be given
if ask we must, what's the point in believing

toil, and the reward be yours
toil they did, for blistered hands n feet n sores

pray, your voice HE shall hear
pray they did, must have fallen on deaf ears

what taught and told, most followed
suffering, as if in eternal hell, pride swallowed

sins of the Angels, HE not cared
like ***** and Gomorrah, none is spared

humanity, degraded, HIS name corrupt
blasphemy abound, not long, shall wrath erupt

souls to save, what to say
each word, for salvation, I must now weigh
Seeing where extremists are taking humanity, a storm is brewing

one in a million

07/04/2021

eight thousand advance the cause of humankind,

rest, as beast of burden, of restless mind,

to feed the system, without cause or reason,

of little importance, a global lesion

in historical times, the more the merrier,

producing offsprings, to lessen the barriers,

colonization for wealth and free labor,

self propagating, to meet unwarranted favor

human race has gone rampart,

acting, as if, without a heart

there’s only one earth, not a zillion

must realize, we are only one in a million
Population is 8 billion (8000 x 1 million)

10/28/2021

Nature, devised awesome power to survive,
for even death, is a source of life
Weak at birth, the strongest,
their numbers kept at low tide
While the younglings n old are most vulnerable
Horror is in the way it is vilified
No one has mastery, for in the end,
only nature shall survive

All hell is loose on planet Earth

Efforts of reconciliation have been scorned

Sense and sensibility has lost all worth

Once more, my armor, I am forced to adorn

Satans hold is growing stronger

His followers see right in might

Unwilling to compromise any longer

Itching for a conclusive fight

It’s incomprehensible to fathom, when

Survivors of the last war, still around

Penned and swore peace for living memory

Are finding voices of reason systematically drowned

So, as I am once again required to descend,

To stave off another horrific earthly calamity

In light of humans unforgiving destructive power

To subdue the disgruntled forces of impending doom

As a last resort, in the absence of all else, I must gather my

Crown, molded by eternal knowledge, of Self Realization,

The ultimate deflection shield of all prevailing Truth

Weaponize, to perform my righteous Dutiful Actions

Radicalism
05/25/2019(R)

To defy the establishment
And freedom to express
To shake the firmament
Is the reason I confess

No thought or idea
Is born of a committee
Against all odds
It's to voice ones individuality

There's no question that
At the root of all knowledge
There stood a lonely thought
Not born of school or college

The masses that flock
As the believers of the word
So freely they mock
Differing views when heard

They call one on the outside
An heretic and a radical
That is only true, if the
Intent is forced ecumenical

No thought is too wild
No idea too abhorrent
Once it gains acceptance
It all becomes coherent

Masses may find no relief
Radicalizing ones individuality
Not realizing that their beliefs
Were born of same mentality

Arret, for just another moment

If this existence is only one chapter
In the book of life, then visualize,
The landscape that it has been,
Full of color and fragrances
That have delighted us, and yes,
Along with dark clouds and barren events
That have periodically shaped our intents.
All we can hope that, looking back,
We did the best we know how.
That we did more right than wrong,
And more good than bad.
That as we live on in the memories of others,
We bring more smiles than frowns.
If our journey is to continue on, then
Knowing that we shall be held accountable
That our acts be not out of ignorance
That our burdens be lighter and bearable.

Remaining Span
11/30/2020

at dusk I reflect on the hours past,
dwelling on my deeds of last,
not realizing that by such an act
I am wasting moments of present

for that, which has receded to annals,
no matter how much I may wisheth,
undo, recall, repent
forever, that cannot be erased

going forth if my actions be earnest,
no matter, the span remaining,
let me ever have to contemplate,
knowing, load be lessened.

Resigned
10/31/2019

Have travelled the dusty roads
Worked the fingers to the bone
From early dawn into darken dusk
Making gravel, breaking stones

Walking miles, in search of jobs
Mended shoes, now totally worn
Passers by, hastily cross the street
Glancing at the clothes, badly torn

Recall, resting upon pillows of soft
and slept between silken sheets
Ate in fine china, waited upon and
never allowing the soil to touch my feet

More content now, never losing pride
Even before what was, now lost to time
Took Lords blows, scarring mind n hide
Knowing in the final hour, bells will chime

Have been poetic now n then
sizing pebbles, carrying boulders
Hummed a tune, sang a song
making gravel, aging shoulders
If we are willing to listen, those now destitute, each having a story to recall, many even excelling in their art - there is no virtue greater than compassion

flawed in our indoctrination

in spite of that, warn us

self interest is our only aim

feeling proud of ill begotten gains

unwilling to accept the blame

more entrenched we have become

fringes of extremes are emboldened

When in the name of Lord, the Almighty, the blood is shed
And RIDERLESS horses trample the ground
A bugle is sounded

-

Come ye, the horsemen
Show your colors
Ye come to bare
This earth of soul

The heads you seek
Are devoid of breath
As zombies now
They roam the land

Waste not your arrows,
Your plagues, your stakes
These abandoned creatures
Now, yours to take

Discard mold useth already

Seasons

Seasons in life
Seasons in health
Seasons in nature
Seasons in wealth

Birth in spring
Growth in summer
Maturity in fall
Regeneration in winter

Birth, spring
Like a bud, a youngling
Full of aroma and delight
Journey of the first step
Full of hope and wonder

Growth of summer
Journey of the next step
Retaining nourishment and knowledge
Growing stronger and wise
Resisting the mightiest of challenges
Feeling invincible

Maturity of autumn
Time for the harvest
The fruits of knowledge
Of all that is attained
To share the wisdom, of
Birth and growth
To the many generations in tow
To feel proud of living

Regeneration in winter
And now the time has come
To feel humble
To have had the moment
To have lived
The journey to the end
And so, neither out of fear
Nor regret, nor tear
You take your last step
So as to rest and regenerate anew
For cycle shall start again

Seed of discontent
01/14/2019

Cocooned in a fog of hatred
Flailing to create some space
To reason with the discontented
To bring harmony and grace

The words don't seem to matter
And actions all fall short
When the seed of discontent
Is entrenched in every thought

How do I escape this fog
How do I gain some space
How do I extol some harmony
And stop this awful chase

The seed of discontent has sprouted
The roots of division are strong
From each other's point of view
The other is staunchly wrong

Where is this silent majority
What happened to reasoning
They seem to have surrendered
Scared of being coined 'Appeasing'

The extremes have hijacked
The slightest desire to compromise
And would seem to rather relish
A state of total confusion

The majority has become complacent
And the calmer voices are drowned
As those on the fringes are screaming
Ensuring, there is no common ground

If the voice of reasoning
Doesn't stop the downward spiral
All will surely succumb to
A state of mutual destruction

It's easier not to participate
And not to get involved
Then we are only strengthening
Those voices of discontent

It is mentally exhausting
And totally out of frustration
We seem to have surrendered
To the seed of discontent.

Sense Perception
05/12/2020

Forever a captive of my senses
Embroiling me with pain n pleasure
Unable to fathom their hold on me
Endlessly chasing rainbow treasure

I see the beauty in nature
It's strength as well as its frailty
I marvel with awe and splendor
Am a witness to its harsh brutality

I hear the sounds of the roaring falls
Orchestral music of birds n insects
Echoes bouncing of caves n valleys
Cacophony of preys in distress

Fragrance of flowers in bloom, I inhale
Whiff of soil stirred by first rain drops
The array of spices that fill my nostrils
The stench declaring life's mortality

I taste the sweet nectar of honey n such
Delicious flavors from around the world
All kind of essences that touch my buds
Warning inferred by bitterness as well

I feel the gentle breeze on a hot summer's night
The cool waves on the beach, lapping my feet
Love's kiss by a spouse, parents, friend or a child
And the heat of the scorching sun or a flaming fire

Knowing that the senses perception
That I feel, taste, smell, hear or see
Is firmly attached to the temporal body
Can't hold me hostage, when the soul is free
Being indifferent to the pleasures and pain of the sense objects, would sure free us from the sens e perception

Serenity
06/24/2019

Serenity, how shall I recount thee

By the silent breeze, that kissed my cheek
By the gentle waves, that lapped my feet
By the song of birds, if you please
By the flowers fragrance, Opps! I sneezed

By the yawning, of the dawning day
By those white clouds, floating by
By the veiling, of the setting sun
By the full moons night, so cool and dry

By the rolling fields, of golden wheat
By the autumn colors, of the leaves
By the vibrancy, of the poppy fields
By the majesty, of the redwood trees

By the ballet, of thousands in flight
By the dance, of a mating call
By the honeycomb, the bees create
By the rippling waters, of a meandering stream

By the coral reef, rich in colorful wonder
By the Northern Lights, awe and splendor
By the million ways, nature presents itself
By the younglings, innocence still intact

Shadows
05/31/2019

When the drag of time
Still leaves you hollow
Knowing you did your best
Leave such shadows behind

When judged by others
Highlighting their expectations
Knowing you did your best
Don't give those shadows a ride

Those now in your wake
Still in need of your time
Knowing you'll do your best
Don't give any shadow a light

Having lived half of last century
And death yet a distance away
Knowing you'll always do your best
Cast any shadows aside
The measure of persons worth, is not what was expected, but that they did their best.

Shards of Knowledge
07/29/2019

In search for the purpose,
of our very existence,
we shift through, the
Rubble of Knowledge,
and piece together, what
others have left behind

as each piece availed itself,
and when two came together,
gleeful for being,
one step closer,
we trudge along,
in hopes of another

so many a times,
a picture seems to emerge,
and we anxiously assume,
and declare it to the world

but then, reality hits us,
on deeper analysis,
our conclusions were faulted,
for lack of all the pieces.
only to be frustrated,
by our own ignorance

the picture that emerged,
was enforced anticipation,
that lacked sound reasoning,
on closer inspection.
All we've collected, are
Shards of Knowledge

When the true north compass is skewed,
one looks to the stars to find their way.
When the moral compass is skewed,
one looks to the heavens to find their way.
When directional compass is skewed,
one looks to knowledge to find their way.

When misinformation becomes reality,
where does one find the truth?
When purpose for life itself becomes skewed
where does one look, which path does one take?

Teach me how to communicate
01/12/2019

It's not enough to know the letters
Or even how to form words or sentences
Nor the meaning of these tools
Teach me how to communicate

I know what I want to say
And even how to say it
But then why am I not understood
Teach me how to communicate

If what I am saying is shrouded
In ulterior motives and misconceptions
Then the meaning is already askewed
Teach me how to communicate

When the relationship is estranged
Then no matter how it is stated
The meaning gets convoluted
Teach me how to communicate

When the intention is compassion
And one wants to be harmonious
Then how does one maintain their cool
Teach me how to communicate

We speak the same language
And form the same sentences
Then why is the conclusion so different
Teach me how to communicate

Why can I not make myself understood
It's not the letters, words or sentences
But how they are perceived
Teach me how to communicate

I know all the alphabets
And even how to form words
I learnt what they mean
And how to use them in a sentence
Then how come I am still misunderstood
Teach me how to communicate
We have lost the art of communication. Instead of talking to each other, we are talking over each other. We feel the only way to get our message across is by shouting the loudest, using profanities or becoming foul-mouthed.

Unable to fathom why

Screaming

Tether shall fray
As ignorance fades

The Blue Planet
12/16/2021

From yonder, I glanced,
through her blue veil, that
subtle pulsation of the crust.
Most that feed off of her,
hardly realize, she’s alive.
Yet, I know she breathes

The waves heaving,
inhaling and exhaling.
Yes, her oceans too, breathe.
That, which seems immobile,
it too is wandering
at a glacial pace, yet, they too live.

Knowing, that we breathe in tandem with her,
why are we then deliberately,
slowly, choking her,
each day, poisoning her.
She is truly one of a kind,
most awesome in those autumn hues.
It’s time to live in harmony,
and let her live as well.

The House, My Home

It’s not the brick and mortar
Nor the painted walls
Not the many rooms
Decorations and all
It started with just the two of us
But that was not for long
The pitter patter of the little feet
Is what kept us strong
The giggles and the laughter
Just some of what we shared
The trials and tribulations
Proved that we cared
It’s the memories of many decades
That makes - the house, a Home.

The influencer

06/08/2021

Greed, is the motivator that,

which oils the mechanism of action.

Survival, is only the initiator, that

soon succumbs to wants’ affliction

It’s a fallacy to believe, or

convince ourselves otherwise

but, wants not needs

becomes, driver of possessions

Forsaking needs, we demonize wants,

offspring of Greed, the influencer.

It grows with possessions, hiding

under the umbrella of need.

Once possessions are attained

wants take control of our senses

The Laughter on the Playground
11/11/2019

the rustling of the leaves,
bustling across the courtyard,
to an imaginary finish line,
only to be disrupted, by
an invisible prankster,
swirling them into a loop

sitting on the patio, cupping,
ohh! that warm cup-a-tea
shawl draped shoulders,
teased by the autumn breeze

weathervane spinning,
rooster at the helm,
croaking n creaking,
straining to twist,
with jester at its tail

childhood, prodded by simplicity,
watching oak let a few more loose,
floating to join ones on the ground,
and, if you hear carefully
the rustling sounds so much,
like laughter on the playground
simplicity has an awesome impac

The Reflection

08/21/2019

As always, lost in thoughts of no consequence
oblivious to the store fronts, an evening stroll
a disturbance, I felt, that held me in place
slowly turning, now facing the window, in view
the display, superimposed with reflections
all is familiar, the images and the reflections
both static and non, beside me as well as behind
what's amiss, the mind refuses to capture
and then, yes then, the invisible, surfaces
amiss from this collage, is my reflection

That disturbance in the force, strongly felt
in place of my reflection, a mist, a haze taking shape
unfocused mind, forming images when non exist
overlaying the mannequin, with a familiar outline
yet everything else, front n surrounding, sharp n clear
captive of that disturbance, motionless, fixated
image forming, taking shape, an outline of my reflection
image with no mass, then I realize the nature of
that which is known to me, that which has left me,
that which has been with me, has grown as I have,
from birth, that which knows me, but that which
I have only now understood, that illusive self
a view, the very few, if any, are privileged to know
as I exhale for the last time/my last breath/for the final time
as if bidding goodbye, with serenity, my aura, my soul
