Sweet magnolia kisses
in the shadows of the day
Petals of desire
flowing soft upon the breeze

Scented of affection
in this magical display
Surrounded by your beauty
as we lay beneath the trees

Listening to a bluebird
so melodic is its sound
Harmonies of springtime
soaring skies of velvet blue

Lost within the moment
in this solitude we've found
Dreaming of forever
on a perfect day with you

I am a lost soul... so very lost.
falling through the floor boards
slipping through the cracks
through the gap under the door
I silently pass and out into the world
where I float upon the breeze
like a thousand dandelions clocks
with no place to land
and I need you to hold me
to tie me to your hand
to tell me I am here
for I can't see where I am
silent me
invisible me
please paint me yellow
let me have colour in your world
let me have colour
cover me in gossamer
and I will become
and my outline be defined
let me be real to your eyes
let our fingers intertwine
take me home
colour me yellow
show me I am true
and I am yours

I can’t stand the thought of
sitting on a street corner,
writing on the curb
with white chalk in the rain

Outlining puddles
in runoff contaminants,
bleeding into the asphalt,
following cracks and crevices

of the last poem I wrote
in permanent ink,
when the sun danced
across her smile

and my words
brought blue skies
to the pages of
my heart’s desire

I hate chalk…..

Once king of the hill
now bottom of the heap
It doesn't feel good
but oh what the *bleep

Peaceful intentions
in sarcastic sneers
Fall to the gutter
and not to their ears

Promises broken
like pieces of glass
Shatter the spirits
in moments that pass

Playing the victim
outside in the rain
Never once feeling
the other one’s pain

Pushing the limits
while swearing it’s true
Look in the mirror
you won’t like the view

*Springtime sings of wondrous things
Of warmer days and robin’s wings
Of daffodils and playground swings
Of sunny morning wanderings
Of fishing poles and wedding rings
Of family picnic gatherings
Of arbors blooming jasmine clings
Of sweetly scented offerings
Of firefly meanderings
Of stardust moonlit ponderings
Of all the happiness it brings
Yes springtime sings of wondrous things
Dumb?

Faded faces on a poster,
smeared lipstick and messed up hair,
burglarized of their dreams
by a modern day masquerade
A lonely disguise pleading endless attention,
outstretched hands offering peace,
playing house beneath the dinette
draped in crocheted tablecloths
calling to the foolish
with pretty words
and overused catch phrases

Offering tainted tea and stale biscuits,
chuckling behind faux teardrops
painted pale blue for effect,
luring the helpless,
promising friendship,
pinky rings and throw pillows
softening the blow
before bearing claws, ripping flesh,
shredding hopeful hearts
till ****** remains drip
into little grey circles
of vacant farewells
