You are like snow, tightly packed to the side of a mountain crag.
You melt away every year to bring fresh water.
(All year round)

You are like the first sight of that mountain, and every glimpse of it after that.

You are like the smell of that snow.

Or just knowing that the smell is there.

You are like all the odd places I've slept but remember vividly,
A strange, sequestered dream
Held fast to something like a bead of water.

Running on golden, not gossamer strings

Strings that form the lines on every face
And every seam.

Strings that line the clouds
That turn to storms
To swallow me

You carved my body and the grain said Awe,
You are the rightness of roots in the dirt.

There are roots in my bones;
May i fruit by your work!

You are the whirring clockwork of evolution,
You are nature's scream
Pregnant with love
An agent above
You are so pristine

A bit tossed,
A little bit ravaged it would seem.

A terribly strange dream,
I wish my bolts would stay in place.

I wish I could live with that much grace.

Never mind,
I wish
I wish that I'd just stay away.

I guess I wish that you were gay.

Things are different over here
I feel smeared
And it's too late.

No one can escape this fate

And something went wrong with my date.
Lol, 'i wish u were gay'

When the weeping willow goes silent,
When the hills turn deaf to your worries,
When the sun begins to seem hollow and strange...

When a butterfly admonishes you: do not to love your life too much,
When layers of blue drive the sky crazy,
When summer peaks again...

When your favorite band tells you to stop writing bad poems,
When you've broken the song of singing birds--

When the world begins to turn beneath you,
You'll know that things have changed.

Think you've been a cool snake, well I've
Incarnate love, all burning
The full weight of her innocence
Pressed against your burning neck

Thought she never felt that, you got
A whole lifetime to prove your guilt
Cancer is the iron rod
Now you'll learn from mistakes

Take it on the back end, you said
Take it in the long term
Next time I hope you wither too soon
Next time I hope you squirm

Hiding in the fumed ones never
Really hid yourself so well
You're naked
He sees her
You're crawling
There

a poem can be kinetic:
let it breathe fire
write it down and let the words lift off the page
and swim in your blood

fall asleep with howling ghosts in the hope that when you wake up,
they paint your world

don't be so sloth and slovenly,
mister death-forgives-all
you are the driver and the doer
you crave intelligent action

organized bereavement has taken the title
leave a string of lace behind,
then drop it

the drunken phantom of ultimate reality dawns on your sunrise
watch it slip by,
string that fine wine through the hills
wear it like a diadem when you are done
and you are done
right now
in the middle of winter
