The Colours Of My Soul
Shibani Das Nov 2018
Dip your hands , my love,

Into the colours of my soul.

And tell me….

Have I bled red enough?

Are there dark mysteries such that bear the colour of my lonely nights?

Have the blue skies blended upon my grey days?

Has the quiet sun, left the harmonious colours of its rise to awaken my being?

Has the sky in the west soaked me enough in the incredible hues of the setting sun?

Have the autumn leaves rubbed upon me the magic of their lustrous gold?

Has the splash of the colours of spring wiped off the ugly stain of my tears?

Has the breeze left a little green of the leaves, it blithely dances upon , and painted my withered dreams?

Dip your hands, into the colours of my soul ,my love,

Watch them…. and let them drip profusely ,

Into the river of life,

Upon which will flow ,

This masterpiece of the colours of my soul.

Music of the soul
Shibani Das Oct 2018
Music of the soul.

Oh! That the rhythm of life would keep pace ,

With the music of the soul that abides within.

The earhly life is so bound to the world,

So carried away by its sights and sounds,

So burdened by its cares,

So hardened by its indifference,

So lost in its chaos…..

While the quiet soul within,

Belongs to another ethereal world…..

From where flows the river of life, silently….

Like a healing balm,

Upon the hurts and wounds,

That scar our helpless lives.

Oh! Listen to the music of the soul,

You weary man,

The notes of peace are ringing within.

Your life is only a prisoner of each breath you take

And a heart that beats upon the prison walls.

Oh ! Listen to the music of the soul,

The song of the soul

Shall set your fettered life free….

Then like a bird you shall fly,

Upon the wings of the soul’s melody.

The Magic of Silence
Shibani Das Oct 2018
The shadow of silence

Lurks upon her window sill,

Her fragile fingers play,

Upon the quietness still.

Silence fills

The void of sound,

Oh! How blissful!

Oh ! How profound !

The veil of silence

Adorns the night,

Her mind is still,

To her souls delight.

Even her heart

Has held its beat,

To break not the magic,

Of this quiet retreat.

An autumn leaf drifts

In stillness deep,

To kiss the earth,

Before it must sleep.

Oh! How placid

Is the night,

All voices asleep,

To her souls delight.
