I am a Poem

My body is a story
Of pain and pleasure
Slipping through time
Yet keep sailing away
From oblivion
the last stanza

Don't

Don't tell me it's gonna be a good day,
Don't say that now,
Don't tell me to be happy,
And don't give me ideas how

Don't give me hope,
Don't sell my dreams to me,
Don't tell me it'll be alright,
And don't tell me you see

Don't tell me it could be worse,
Don't remind me of how it was,
Don't admire my strength,
And don't give my courage applause

Don't let me love you,
Don't make me hold on,
Don't make an oasis out of you,
And don't, please don't, be gone

You matter

Stephan

You tell me you feel
that you no longer matter
Sunsets and moonbeams
they all seem to shatter

Dark clouds and sadness,
a heart filled with  sorrow
Lost in today
and afraid of tomorrow

Just take my hand
so I can find your smile
I know it is there
you will see in a while

Let it all go
it is time to start living
I offer friendship,
that's what I am giving

Not here to fix you,
I know that you're broken
Just here to offer
some kind words now spoken

Hoping you see
in these thoughts I do scatter
You're special to me
and you truly do matter

not only
must
the thornbird
sing
but she
must
gather some
broken twigs
with her beak
and
with her wings
that build
a nest
made of things
for other
thronbirds
to sing
