This thing, misplaced
Waiting to be found
Made moments, all moments
Here moments, this moment dream moments.

Midnight sun on desert snow,
Snow falls, melts in midnight sun
Melts and Desert flowers grow
Grow from melted midnight snow.

We pick the flowers
Bathe in the midnight sun,
In the center of the midnight sun
We glow laugh and drink,
Drink the midnight melt
Smell perfect flowers.
We take the melted midnight snow and make a desert ocean
In the middle of the midnight sun.
Filled with desert fish
Who eat the desert ocean flowers
We put the midnight sun on the bottom of the ocean
The water is light.

We breath the light and swim
We stand on the midnight sunlit shore,
Our melted desert snow ocean
Liquid Midnight sun around us
A ball of snow in the middle of the midnight sun.

I see you through the water light,
Clean, fragrant and clear
Perfect In the water and light
Sun snow water flowers
In the desert
In the midnight desert ocean.

We smell our desert flowers,
Drink the sun, the perfect midnight sun.

I Went downtown for happy hour it wasn't very far
Einstein stood with Buddha in the middle of the bar
Al was drinking beer and Buddha shooting stars

All night long they talked and talked about things short and tall
About the reach of old and new and what made big things fall
They were talking past and future and how the near was far
But they couldn't tell what time it was or where they left the car

Einstein said to Buddha that everything's the same
You and me and light and hate all circling the drain
Not so fast the Buddha said and slowly closed his eyes
He slowly floated above the bar into the evening sky

Einstein started adding while he slowly scratched his head
The Buddha floated back to earth the air a solid color red
When I think of nothing that's when everything comes true
Life and death and light and dark all flowing in my view

Albert took a sip of beer and put his pencil down
He looked the Buddha in the eye and saw the world go round
All the zeros ever made equal nothing here
Just add one to get the sum and everything came clear

Can't be held just taken in
Only known from deep within
Fall to freedom, let's begin.

I woke up happy and I'm not sure why
The rain is falling from a sunny sky

It lands in puddles on the kitchen floor
Through a brand-new hole in the roof I’m sure
The dog is hungry and the cats want more.

My organic farming had a business plan
With pretty labels on my candied yams

The crops have failed, and the well is dry
I’m having a drink while the chickens die

The truck is broke and the car won't start
The barn is leaning, I can't sell my art

The sows are rooting in the last few plants
What’s left of my garden hasn’t got a chance

I should be grumpy with all this bad luck

With my soggy kitchen and my garden muck
But I'm still giddy in my ***** clothes
With my last tomato tween my piggy toes

I got running water in the kitchen now
Every time it rains it'll wash the sow
And clean the dust off my broken car
I got no fruit to put in cans or jars
I'm just plain happy and sleeping underneath the stars.

A perfect thing
A perfect thing

I reached and held a perfect thing
I looked away as it took wing
And now I feel the angels swing
A frozen tear on a broken string
I had and lost the perfect thing

We had our time in desert snow
It melted when the hot winds blow
Made sand from shining water fans
Grew cactus flowers from barren lands

This thing I had and now misplaced
I looked away and saw my face
Black diamond eyes hung in the air
A fateful taxi took the fare
I called I cried, the cold wind blew
In cloudless skies a goodbye flew
On broken wings it crashed and bled
The sand soaked up the words unsaid

I reached and held a perfect thing
I looked away as it took wing
And now I feel an angels swing
A frozen tear on a broken string
I had and lost the perfect thing

I reached, it fell, I lost I cry
Now staring at a moonless sky
No mirrors now, no diamond face
No cactus flowers, no heart to race

I see you through the water now
With light reflected on new snow
Snow to water, clouds to tears
Rock to sand and love to fear

I reached and touched a perfect thing
I looked away and it took wing
And now I play my broken string
The angels watch but do not sing
I had and lost the perfect thing

I woke up past midnight to a flash in the sky
I Heard Rain on the roof and felt tears in my eyes
A window pane broken with rain coming in
Your face in the sky I’m to empty to cry.

I reach to fix the shattered glass
And Turn the clock to a time gone past
Perfect Moments never last
Perfect then now gone and slash
Cut and bleeding, bleeding fast.

Once you did love me my rose in the day
You were my water
Our son and our daughter
A new day in brightness had barely begun
Now darkness was coming
Now darkness is dawning
The water the longing
The thirst of belonging

Try to fix the shattered glass
Your eyes have left me staring past
Perfect moments, die is cast
My ship is sailing with a broken mast
Cut and bleeding, bleeding fast.

I look at the water the rain on the floor
I see my reflection behind me a door
It silently opens and the face I am sure
Is pictured behind me still frozen in time
A captured bright moment now covered in crime
The door closes quickly I look at the sky
I think of our love with black tears in my eye
The broken glass window with rain coming in
A moment together from which we begin
A foolish reply and I let in the sin.

Try to fix the shattered glass
Turn the clock to time gone past
Perfect moments never last
Moments gone black future vast
My history is written broken past,
Cut and bleeding, bleeding fast.

I want to draw the knowing line.
I want to draw the knowing line.

Pulled from the past of my own broken mind
A beautiful poem with the scent of the pine
It looks like a lemon and smells like a lime
I want to draw the knowing line
This time
The knowing glowing line.

My sight has gone crooked my brushes are dry
I work in the sun and for water I cry
I try and I try and I try and I try
To draw a knowing line
This time
To draw the knowing line

The clouds have all gathered and look down on my art
The rain is now falling  I’m falling apart
My canvas is dripping and I reach out to start
To feel the knowing line
This time
To search for the knowing line.

The thunder is crashing from a clear sunny sky
I paint and I draw and I rhyme and I cry
The moment has come and goes blank in my eye
A moment in time
A moment sublime
The delicate magic created is blind
And there is the knowing line
This time
I’ m holding the knowing line
A scribble that travels from now for all time
Looks like a lemon and smelling like lime
There is the knowing line.
This time
I’m holding the knowing line.

My string is tangled, balled and mangled
Tied in knots from every angle
No spool to use and hard to tie
So long ago it used to fly
My kite my kite
My kite so high

I used to run against the moon
With kites above a lake of loons
We made a schooner in the sky
Their bills the keel, my kite the sail
My string the rope, the mast their tail
And as I watched, my bird ship fly
Into the sun above the sky

I lost it blinded, by the light
Through water eyes into the night
The loons came back, a thousand wings
Their music song a lake in spring
The bird ship gone, my kite ablaze
My string had vanished in the haze.

I see a wisp in the moonlit sky
Like first sight from a morning eye
The clouds came closer thin and slack
And at my feet in tangled black
My string My string
My string came back.

I threw my tangled ball of string
At crescent moon in early spring
With loons it flew toward new dawn light
A magic hand was formed in flight
Caught by the loons in feather hands
The knots untied on desert sands
And at my feet, my string did land

My thread was tangled, balled and mangled
Tied in knots from every angle
Unfurled above by feather hands
Above the foggy desert sands
I took my feathered string and ran
Ran toward the dawn
New kite new kite new kite in hand
