a crow & a raven

meltdown into the

hollows of a jack-o-lantern's

eyes.

as an overthrown flock

of blackbirds hone in on

an orange blip,

over a rooftop.

leaking mascara down

a jack-o-lantern's

hollows.

kernels of corn

detach themselves

from the cob

of some kind of

Sun.

to necklace the

over-shed of

moonshine.

circle-yell,

full.

as land left

off its wilt, growth

in tidal surges.

forming pyramidal heads

of mountains.

is being composed...

hung from a twig.

to the enjambments

of flies.

paper mache wounds

drive into their

porcelain doll.

fetches of deepening

red--making Rose.

profuse.

applications of hands--

shattering.

right before bed.

bade meat in shifting

spotlight.

the veal of a stage pounded.

all the villagers shouting a

unique city.

keeping frayed appointments--

they were always there once.

punctually.

zeroing in on their accusatory

fingers--one gouge shy of an eye.

unblinking talisman.

contraction does not reciprocate.

she's always at the window.

darkness doesn't know

it's color...as it enacts

the thickest plaster

with striving.

ungluing white hands

that spread under the

wings of birds.

pausing abruptly midair--

over their clearing, wings

never more wide open.

breast to breast.

too final with embrace,

not rise overhead.
