The first truth in a long time
Always feels a little stale
on your tongue and breath
You must ask yourself
Is it refreshing
Or repulsive
For that will show
your loyalty

The debt I owe
cannot be paid
with service or money
it cannot be paid
with food or gifts

The debt I owe
is own owed by many
wether to one person
or a community,
wether from a strange place
or a familiar one

It is a debt that can
only be paid forward
to the next one who requires it
only when the debt
is passed forward
is it paid
I know the person I wrote this poem for will never understand how amazing he was for me, and he will never see this poem. But I hope he’s proud.

In the cold fall air
doubting ourselves
aren’t we quite the pair
we sit in silence all alone
yet so much is fixed
we help each other build
what people have destroyed
just an unusual pair

Pouring water from a glass
That was never full
Beautiful dangers lie
In what’s impossible
Lovely like lighting
Or a rainbow

So shy
hands hide
climbing up your sleeves

So shy
love hides
losing itself in me

So shy
don’t cry
hold it all in

So shy
goodbye
will you remember me?

I cannot help
A drowning person
Who refuses to be saved
I cannot change
The way wind blows
Within a hurricane
I cannot
Make dead flowers come alive again
I cannot
Quiet every voice in my head
Accept these things
and you will see
I am flaws
with good intentions

Her mouth is a smile
But her eyes are empty
She says she’s fine
But her eyes plead
She has a brave face
But she looks away
The eyes can never deceive
