Are we meant to be,
I ask myself,
Is this truly what I need?
I can't decide,
I'm just not sure,
Should I even proceed.

But then last night,
I had a dream,
And it told to me the truth.
We cannot work,
At least not right now,
Not in this subtle youth.

So it saddens me,
That this is the end,
At least for now you see.
Maybe I'm right,
Maybe I'm wrong,
Either way, it's better to be free.

As the sunsets,
And ends this day,
I ask myself,
Why things didn't go my way?

What did I do,
To deserve this hurt?
My wounds reopened,
Rubbed in with dirt.

I feel the sting,
Inside my chest.
My hearts on fire,
No time to rest.

But I must sleep,
I must proceed.
For tomorrow is a a new day,
A new day to achieve.

So I close my eyes,
Forget the pain.
I open my window,
And fall asleep to the rain.

So you say that I'm a bad kid,
That I'm messing everything up.
But I'm not even doing drugs,
Or drinking beer out of a cup.

I'm just trying my best, I promise.
Why don't you listen to me.
The things I do wrong are nothing,
Compared to most kids I see.

I don't understand why something so little,
As forgetting to take out the trash.
Is as bad to as me smoking ****,
And you finding the ash.

I wait all day,
For the darkness to come.
I sit outside,
I watch the sun.
I wait for the stars,
I wait for my fun.
I cannot wait,

For the time I truly adore.

I'll wait some more.

I am awake,
I cannot sleep,
For all I can think of is you.
I toss and turn,
But to no prevail,
If only you really knew.

The thought of you,
Has grown in me,
It's taken over my mind.
All I can see,
Is your smiling face,
I truly now am blind.

I will not rest,

I have no other choice.

Is to be with you,
And hear your precious voice.

So again I tell you,
I cannot sleep,
For you are all I need.

Then my sleep will be freed.

If you believe I have limits,
Then you are the one who is limited, not I.

This world is a blank canvas,
And I stand ready to paint.
I choose my fate,
No one else can, but I.
This is my life.

You cannot tell me,

Poems don't have to rhyme,
Who cares how they sound.
Rhyming can be so restricting,
That's what I've found.

I've been holding on for some kind of miracle,
But it seen like it's just time to let go.

Wishing for false dreams.
For what is a wish but silent words,
Heard by no one but you.
Why do you think they never come true?

My wallet is empty,
And so is my heart.
You took all I had,
I'm falling apart.

You robbed me of more
Than just my cash.
You stole my soul,
And burned it to ash.

So you're not just a thief,
But an arsonist too.

And burnt it all the way through.

But sadly for you,

A phoenix with no end.

I just wish someone had told me the same thing about life.

The birds swoop above me,
Almost in a taunt.
I cannot break these ties,
