The Mind Garden
Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
The mind is as a garden
Bare at first until seeded with thought
You may seed it with dreams and wishes
Some may last a lifetime as an oak
Others annual or a summers bloom
Beautiful but for a short time
Some thoughts lie dormant as a seed does
Then far from their planting spring to life
Why?
Because they could only grow when the time and conditions were right
So clear your mind of all that harms it
As a gardener clears weeds
Remember not to disturb the bulbs beneath
For when the time is right
They will grow
Life will change
The future will be in bloom
Chauncy Gardener prompted this.
A Peter Sellers Being There.

Apple pie?
Micheal Wolf Aug 2019
About three years ago I visited the Cavern pub on Matthew Street. My friend Ian Prowse runs the open Mic night. They have two rules. No cover versions and three songs maximum. I hadn't been for a while and was immediately set upon by Ian to sing a song he likes that I wrote. So when the time came. Up I got and sang. After I went to the bar, my nerves shot. I ordered a drink and a lady approached me and said how much she enjoyed it. We chatted and she asked was I there every week. I said sadly no I have other commitments. She then said she would be back next week as working in Liverpool again would I like to meet up for a drink? . I agreed to meet at 7, Matthew Street. I had just met Heidi.
The next Monday I finished work. Jumped the train to James Street and there she was. I asked had she eaten yet and she hadn't. So we went to a little Thai place on South John Street. We sat down ordered a bottle of white wine and made our selections. By the time we had finished the starters there was about 1cm of wine left in the bottle and she was very chatty and loud. Much to the delight of the couple on the table next too us who seemed to hang on her every word.
The main course came and went as did the second bottle. I still hadn't got halfway into my second glass. Now truly smashed she says "I suppose you will want a BJ after this?" The lady on the table next too us almost choked, her husband let out a laugh and I said, I know not why, "That sounds nice, but I was looking forward to the Apple pie with ice cream to be fair."
That was it for the couple next to us. His wife almost had an embolism and he laughed his head off.
Heidi got up threw her napkin on the table, downed her glass of wine in one, announced to the fellow dinners "He's not getting laid tonight" Turned, almost demolished the table leaving, and stormed out. The couple next to me now in tears, the waitress comes to the table and asks "Err is the lady coming back?" I reply No I don't think so.
She then asks would I like dessert?
Before I can say a word the chap on the table next to us says "I hope you have apple pie and Ice cream for the poor guy"
The waitress said "No" and that finished it. Three tables of people laughing relentlessly.
I sat and had melon ***** and they chatted like we had known each other for years.
What of Heidi?
She was never to be seen again.

It was never you
Micheal Wolf Feb 2013
Go now!
Spiteful conveyer
For your close counsel is false and needless
Don't call to discuss your woes and infidelity
Or use others to shield your sworded encounters
No affirmation of friendship is ever trustworthy
As swathed thy black soul is with treachery
Chased away, no drove away happiness between others With bitter contempt and yet brazen still thy protest, yet they called you friend.
Friend! How that was mocked
For they had nothing, save one thing you could not buy,
only love
Yet you clouded a heart that needed help
Drove it to darkness and despair
Was it a fantasy of what was never yours that procured a lie
Or was it simply jealousy?
The man who did not desire you?
Why not he simply must!
The man who asked nothing only friendship
Desired nothing of you nor wanted of you.
Yet you destroyed what warmth he found with another
Thou shalt not covet!
Yet you did.
Oh but he kissed her so tenderly
He kissed her !
Not you
He spoke of her
Held her
Loved her
Not you
It was all about you
But
Was never you
Stabbed in the back
and many moons later discovered not by them but by anothers ill will.

Throw a word into a conversation like a grenade

Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
For my own part
I have never had a thought
Which I could not set down in words
with even more distinctness
Than that with which I conceived it
There is however, a class of fancies
Of exquisite delicacy
Which are not thoughts
And to which as yet I have found it
Absolutely impossible to adapt to language
These fancies arise in the soul
Alas how rarely
Only at epochs of most intense tranquility
When the ****** and mental health are in perfection
And at those mere points of time
Where the confines of the waking world
Blend with the world of dreams
And so I captured this fancy
Where all that we see or seem is but
A Dream Within A Dream
Simply one of the best works in existence.

Micheal Wolf Nov 2013
When you see a soul hurt or tortured, in pain
Do you walk past?
Stop?
Or run away
You probably can't help them
You won't understand why
Just being there to listen
Can save a life
No judging,  no lecture,  no telling you so
Just hold them and listen
Till the fear starts to go
Fear of living or dying
Loving or loss
A body to hold them till the pain has passed
Now look at them closely for all you will see
Is a reflection of all that you'll ever be
The new Samaritan is me
It is also in you
In a world full of pain
Only love can break through

Gods farcical particle
Micheal Wolf Nov 2013
We dig a hole in the ground
Then send photons round and round
Speak of quarks and mesons too
And sub atomic invisible stew
Looking at all the subatomic  parts
Trying to find what gives them mass
Higgs the guy who thought it up
A God particle it was dubbed
It costs a fortune to make it work
But I ask you what it's worth?
For man will simply find a way
To hurt another with what they make
For all we do, all we create
Seems now to fuel the war of hate
From atom bombs to poison gas
Now they fool around with mass
The scariest part in all of this
Is the conceited way they named the thing
Man now calls the particle "God!"
Did we just create ourselves
Another type of universe?
Or make a journey so perverse
We lost sight of who, and what we are..
Simply atoms from a dying star.

Pandoras little red box.
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Pandora lived within her box
Listening to the noise outside
Every time she sneaked a peek
You guessed it, another freak
So she held the lid down very tight
Slept alone every night
Her friends would share a laugh and joke
Thou Pandora had no hopes of love
When one day whilst out the box
She wiggled her toosh and didn't know
Her toosh was seen to wiggle past
A quite delightful site in fact
Off she popped and closed the lid
Nothing more was ever said
One day a stranger, a curious type
Thought the lid was far to tight
He opened it up to peek inside
Pandora startled with surprise!
Hot and bothered red in fact
That he had dared to even try
The cold that she had made her world
Was melting and she was quite perturbed
So once again she closed the lid
Warm inside she couldn't think
A tingle here a giggle there
Pandora now was really scared
Now Pandora isn't locked away
She just made the choice to be that way
With good reason to with all the freaks!
The choice is hers to stay or leave
We all know about boxes
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Pour myself another drink
I should stop writing and denounce HP
It has become a voice to my nightly brain fever
More serious disease than syphilis
As it eats away at my brain
I suspect in much the same way
In past a vent for the toxic thoughts off divorce
Preoccupied in bitter tears and hatred
Not seeing its healing potential till now
A display of my emotion
Sometimes intense yet so often lost to others
A soap box of parody that hid a broken heart
An inverse playground of my deepest fears
In that it has many swings and roundabouts
Of love, for others here
Some home so long since gone
Dealings with grief and loss of substance
My family
Now seems like a wrecking ball formed verse when re read
Others I cannot see where I was in my head
Lights on yet not at home
The words don't fit now
I thought STOP!
Delete
But that would be failed testament to myself.
The gin now speaks not me (metaphoric as drinking Bundaberg Guava as good for the kidneys and to wash down my acidophIlus tablets just to clear up that I'm not a wino!)
A bottle opened to embrace
Odd as I can't remember when I last loaded
More so on a school night
I was told to look in not omit myself by helping others
Give me some me time
I have time
I dwell, cogitate to detriment and find no solution
So Yes may be his answer and his inner solace
It is not yet for me.

Love out loud
Micheal Wolf Jun 2013
Don't over use them or forget their worth
I know it's only three small words
But spoken loud for all to hear
As a train leaves you shed a tear
Spoken softly by your child at night
Fills your body with warmth inside
Slow and cold at the end of the affair
Like hearing a shot ring through the air
Yet said by many as false platitude
Whilst kissing cheeks is over used
What is missed is not the words
For the feeling simply can't be heard
So as I kiss your cheek whilst you gently sleep
Or hold your hand whilst you weep
Or make you smile at a silly joke
Knowing only you have understood
That is love in all its parts
Not just I love you said out loud
If used to much it losses weight
The words are lost and have no place
For my friend Anja Lindtner a rather good writter, observational columnist and mother.

Coffee with a Jew
Micheal Wolf Jun 2013
What if we all woke up tomorrow a timezone at a time
We found no armies were fighting and laughter filled the day
A Muslim drinking coffee, playing chess with his friend the Jew
Christians praying quietly whilst bhudists chant their tune
Politicians talking, instead of scoring points
Feeding those in hunger without plying for their oil
Monsanto going organic, the GM food all gone
No
So what if one tomorrow that all came to pass
A utopia of selflesness, mankind's left its rotten past
Well no time soon, or in my life are we likely to get there
We wake each day to see what our fellow men have wrecked
So close your eyes really tight, try to see its worth
Of helping not destroying our over mortgaged Earth
I hope I'm not the only one who wants a world of peace
Without the hurt the pain the fear that only MAN creates

46 today 47 tomorrow
A life that's had highs and lows
Will it feel different? I doubt it no
I can drink, smoke and vote
The smoke I'll pass I'd probably choke
I can marry, err no I tried that one
Don't think my heart could break again
So I can be straight or gay! Now there's a thought
Im sorry guys your not my sort
The world you see is pretty much my oyster
I just lack direction as I get older
Younger days now that was fun
The postman used to think I was a stud
As cards galore the day before
St Valentines to my door
Reality was not quite the same
It to just another day
Now it's different really quite strange
As friends ask What you doing today?
What's planned? Your single now so party man!!!
Sometimes I just don't think I can
Depression you see has become my friend
He visits me around such times
Like the ex wife a parasite
For years it's raised its woeful head
Really ! Wish I'd stay in bed
Well 815 that Sunday morn to a cold world I was born
I have seen wars and famine disaster and greed
Nations bring others to their knees
So the plan is simple all I want
Just to see my daughters for an hour
I can't wait to get the cards that they have made
Means more since they have gone away
Then a cuddle that could make my cry
But they can't see as I just smile.
So go think a while on what you have
Your world may not be so bad
Look into your lovers eyes
Hug you kids, hold them tight.
Oh if your out tomorrow night
Tie one on for me alright x

Entangled entwined in a war of unkindness, where both sides are blinded by rage and by madness, were love once danced and emotions engulfed them, as she said she loved him and he said it back, as their lips locked forever to never come back, while fingers wrapped them in a moment of madness, now it's all gone and all that's left sadness, as they stare at the papers faceless solicitors wrote, of the times that they once had before all they did argued, and all that was said as they drifted apart and hated instead.

The ciggiy hung from her lip
No question she was up for it
But up for what was what he feared
As half crowns hung from her ears
Her hand stretched out as payment due
"30 quid" she said to you
Get undressed behind the screen
"Your first time or have you been?"
On the bed he lay face down
Her hands moved up and down his back
Suprisingly she wasn't bad
Arms outstretched fingers pulled
This was really really good
Roll over love I'll do your front
Now he starts to feel a chump
There she stood and looked at him
He looked back with a silly grin
She oiled his chest and then his legs
Avoided going between his thighs
She could have told the time of day
His sundial had come out to play
Now all done she passed a towel
And asked him "was that alight"
Then before he could reply
She said next door if you want more
No happy endings here my love

It then takes 8 minutes and 19 seconds
If you're picky it's because of procession

A little more or a little less
Because we wobble for seasons sake

But once the photon ends its journey
It could light up just anything

A shaft of light upon a face
That took millennia to make

Or light up a yellow buttercup
Beneath the chin of my little one

Across time and space the photon raced
Just to do its best

For all we had before it came was

I want to write a screen play
The story of a life
A journey to insanity
The weary inner strife
The endless days of torture
Night's of intense mental pain
The wishing you where dead
Yet clinging to life's vein
When sparks of love afforded
To be snatched away in game
Each tearing a little deeper
Your sanity deranged
Their victory proclaimed
Like chess played with neurons
On a a board that has no squares
A three dimensional prison
That exists inside your head
No solace reached in morning
Their tirade begins again
Retreating deeper inward
You worsen every day
Finally a knife edge
Stay or walk away
Berated for your failure
Each and every day
Survival is all that matters
Clinging to your life
Thoughts are so intransient
You smile as you cry
A hug could simply **** you
Your humanity's been lost
Others did not see it
Nor how you paid the cost
So if I wrote a screenplay
The story of a life
How would I begin or end
What words would I write
Would you see the meaning
And hold me close tonight?

The good and the bad, all impressions on the soul

Some over a long period a daily entwined interaction
Others a chance encounter sometimes but a moment
Yet another notch on that stick of experience
But what of the depth of the cut?
Some deep tortuous, some superficial
Some brief encounters leave a deep wound
That re opens like a sore when least expected
Others fill you with pleasure and wonderment
Yet I dare proclaim no two notches are the same
One woman's lover can bring sadness to another
For we are individuals all with our own notches

For you the band played on. The people clapped the light went up my friends they chat, I do not hear for she is not here.
But my thoughts aren't here. They are, they are there with you a woman I don't even know.
I wonder now more and more just how the world brought you to my door.
A twist of fate, she spoke to me.
A soft sweet voice that teases me, made me laugh and makes me see. A sultry whit that knows no bound an intellect I understand.
Now that is said is scary to, for are you me and am I you ?
Be it hours, not days or weeks until we take the time to meet. I hope we see the warmth inside that both of us have tried to find.
So now I write to you in rhyme and verse no others do. As inspiration for to write has to have a guiding light.
I never studied how to prose, my grammar may not be of cause. Yet I long to see you smiling face and touch you finger tips each day.
I want to see if the spark is there and look at you without a care.
I write to you and try to say how much you make me smile each day.
So omnipotent princess of light may you sleep softly at home tonight.
For somewhere many miles away a poetic fool dreams of you.
Starshine and moonbeam silly names we use to tease, but without the light from a caring star a moonbeam wouldn't shine at all.
So sleep and dream my earthly friend and wake to read this prose I send. For many years I have not written a single word or spoke aloud my soul be heard. Oh yes it does it scares me so. But we have to know.

Well paracetomol crushed
Mixed with kitchen cleaner

So you don't like me, should I feel bad?
Have you had the life I've had?
Have you lost it all you wife your kids?
Had no one in the world but yourself?
Walked for miles and got nowhere
Looked at death and seen a friend there
Used a duvet as a sheild, laughed to hide a flood of tears.
So when you sit and gossip you only have half a story.
The affair I had that blew it all
Only existed in another's thoughts
You see I did change and wasn't me
Depression did that to me
But once ill I was no more use, for building a house and taking kids to school
I hear you found some other grass but when I left he packed his bags
No you blame it all on me
Oh why oh why didn't I see?
All that was wrong was all my fault so now I'm gone who is its now?
Mine again! How odd is that!
So who really lost the plot
You drove me to the edge of life and appeared to be a model wife
So now I'm done with all your hate and all the lies and pain
You may never realise it's you not me who ruined your life.

The moon woke up the sun and told her his night was done.
The sun she said to her love, rest now my love your weary head.
All day she shone her very best and all the world loved her there.
Then as the night began to fall she gave the sunset her very all.
The moon he woke in such delight, and looked upon her all the night.
As she slept her light it shone, reflecting off her love the moon.
Night after night after night.
For my daughter. Was a little bit of magic explaining the world

Oh Hunter be Hunted
Micheal Wolf Nov 2012
Oh hunter be hunted for who is the prey?
Did you stalk her to trap her ?
Get snared on your way.
Did she tease you to catch you an invisible foe.
As you can't see her will you ever know.
Oh hunter be hunted you are the pray!
But only if you continue to play in her game.
Did you try to be silent to cover your tracks?
She followed your scent and is close to your back.
Oh hunter recounted oh hunter beware she just plays mind games and she isn't there.
Oh hunter "Be" hunted for now it's despair !
Walk away from this madness before you are hurt
So hunter oh hunter decision to make, track now a picture or leave this lost place.
Was a parody after reading "oh captain my captain"

Cart wars
Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
Oil of clove and wing of bat
Eye of newt and hair or cat
I bet she mumbles to herself
As she shops like everyone else
Rams her cart into everyone
A proper witch she has become
Wait until she checks out today
And sees what treats have come her way
For ramming your shopping cart into me
Wins a prize for you he he
The check girl is all a singer
For KY jelly and some rubbers
At 80+ you should know better!
Do not leave your cart unattended
Vengeance is mine say the wounded shopper

Look inside Murphy said!
Micheal Wolf Feb 2013
Scanning the lines looking inside
Trying to see what makes him tick
****** to whit, satire to rhyme
Diversity hides what's inside
Is it tender or blunt, cutting or lust
What drives him to pick up a pen
What does he see that others miss
How do the words take shape?
A mind alive with a million thoughts
Each fighting to make the cut
He simply writes what he feels
To him simply enough

Ignored
Micheal Wolf Jun 2019
A Happy fathers day to all the dads who gave their all and didn't even get a call.
To the ones that worked and paid for them even if they were never seen.
To the ones that simply faded away because of the caustic games their exes played.

Third eye kiss
Micheal Wolf Mar 2014
Once born it's never on thy lips
Upon thy brow a mothers kiss

Then others all will follow suit
Bestowing light and love to you

Instinct overrides them all
As lips to your brow they are called

Yet as you grow it seems to stop
Kisses to your cheek do flock

Then when love and lust appear
Kisses to the lips doth flow

Once again a child is born
Now you are drawn to their sweet brow

Yet years pass and twilight falls
You start to shed this mortal coil

Once again they come to kiss
On your brow,  not your lips

A cycle now almost complete
Ancestors call, it's time to leave

A kiss opon a wrinkled brow
Third eye closed, time to go
Something that needed finishing

Bedside friend
Micheal Wolf Jan 2013
My little friend
My tickle stick
My happy unatached rubber ****.
Don't have to cook or talk to you
Just flick the switch and off you go!
A shimmer here a tingle there
Oh Mr Shake you take me there
Then when I'm done its wipe you clean
Then pop you in my drawer again.
I don't have to call to phone or chat
Or score your visit in my bed
Batteries cost about a pound
For mummy your just superman!
I had a thought and ran with it!

My five a day!!
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Five a day!
I'm fed up to the back teeth
Adverts all the time
Five a day veg or fruit
Remember it is good for you
Well keeps the body health
But what of your mind
Well my five a day is for the mind
Smile at a stranger it could make their day
Cuddle your children they grow that way
Love your partner then tell them so
Hug your lover morning and night
Remember you're no better than anyone else
Do all five with your fruit and veg
Your life will mean more to you each day
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Enter thy monies
Oh needy one

The door opens
Light ON

The door closes
Just you
No other

No space
No comforts

You sit
Relief abounds

An epiphany
Cathartic

But No!
No paper!!

Now sullied
In panic

No joy
Unit empty

A scramble
Your bag

A frenzy
Emptied now

A tissue!
A smile

A knock
A foreigner

A flush
A wash

Door open
An exit

An entrance
A grin

Fathers day must be fun !

You have it all a hedonite
You don't work or give a *****

The perfect life for **** all
But hang on, what's this pain?
As you age your health gets frail
It's all the **** you shoved inside

You shout again and stamp your feet
Oxygen and chair for free
And when you finally pop your cloggs

Barefoot traveller
Micheal Wolf Feb 2013
Cast an eye over the things that matter
Are they close or far away
Unattainable or simple impractical
But do those thoughts fill the day
Does distance change emotion
Or enhance its fire within
Does the cold of night comfort you
Or savage at what dreams have
Did great explorers travel with their lovers in their mind
Was livingstone restless in his pursuit of knowledge
Lying alone night upon night
Until he bedded his African wives
They buried his heart when he died
Beneath his beloved foreign skies
Alexander centuries before an explorer who took to war
Took comfort at many a camp with native girls of every land
Was he a better or worse person to do so
I guess that shall never know
Now voyager
See the world in all its splendor
Feel sand between your toes
See dawn in a foreign land
See sunsets many more
For it is time for you to go
Walk in footsteps of the great
To lands faraway
Would be fabulous to see you on your return
If you come this way again
Don't get bitten or sick this time enjoy the world
YOU GET ONE LIFE!
Written for the barefoot wander off to add more UNESCO sites to the book of travels. Don't get Cholera this time

Mad hatter
Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
The madhatters tea party to me now seems sane
As my life isn't simple and everything strange
I seems I'm not worthy and just all because
I dont have a crystal ball or a magic wand
Anything I say or do is simply just wrong
I wonder why im even here at night when I'm alone
Is it to provide a person for you to rant at
Someone to blame and call a ****
All of your problems of course that was me
You're perfect and can't possibly be you
Well I'm tiered and worn down and no more can I do
So vent your spleen and all of your woes on someone else
As I am now closed.

Woodside
Micheal Wolf Feb 2014
Old cobbles, irregular moss between.
Some lifted as natures reclamation puts it's mark beneath them.
Roots splitting their pretty pattern.
Trees being trees.
The tram lines polished tops dazzle me as an early spring sun tries to make an appearance.
Enhanced by the light glistening on the droplets of water on my glasses.
I didn't notice that yesterday.
Cold east wind bites as the ferryboat blows it's horn.
Each captain different in tone remimding me I'm home.
The dark grey sea churning as the ferry fights its way to Liverpool.
Each day the same just different in small detail.
How was your lunch?
