You taught me that letting go is easier than fighting to keep what has been lost.
You taught me that blood means nothing when a less scarred life can be sought.
You taught me that being cruel and heartless has more impact than kindness.
You taught me to never trust or love unless both can be done with deceitful blindness.
You taught me that family are those with whom can be impatiently tolerated or fooled.
You taught me to close my eyes when swimming through the best part of the pool.
You taught me that opening my eyes would lead to the ignored and naked truth.
You taught me to be a defenseless coward against bosses and bullying youth.
You taught me that hard work and making money are more important that love.
You taught me to forget you because my existence is something you no longer think of.

Sometimes, when my mind is quiet,
I hear your thoughts.
Sometimes, when my body is still,
I feel your touch.
Sometimes, when my nerves are calm,
I sense your energy.
Sometimes, when my eyes are closed,
I see your smile.
Sometimes, when my sadness worsens,
I feel your embrace.
Sometimes, when my heart gets heavy,
I can hear your laughter.
Sometimes, when my hands are empty,
I squeeze yours tighter.
Sometimes, when my nights are sleepless,
I hear your heartbeat.
Everytime, I wish we were we,
I remember I'm not yours,
and you,
you are not meant for me.

Fingers go numb against the skin of betrayal.
They have lost the ability to touch your soul.
Kissing nothing on the lips of a liar and a fake.
Silent screams swallowing me whole.
In darkness there is peace.

The blind eye that burns,
Meaningless spoken words
Creates an emptiness that aches.

Moments of peace beyond,
The misery never really gone
When the sleepless night awakes.

Sun seared retinas blur,
The dying body injured
As the familiar feeling ensues.

Muffled voice never tells,
The mind circles through hell
Searching for the energy to continue.
