In darkness we hear what is not there
As children we imagine creatures under the bed
In darkness we fear the worst is so close
They hide in the wardrobe or outside the door
In darkness they creep and they sneak and they plot
Waiting to pounce when your eyes close for sure
In darkness theres see stars if we squidge our eyes tight
Millions and millions of tiny bright lights
In darkness we lie with a lover in bed
Or crunch up a pillow and squeeze that instead
In darkness a poor candidate stands
Only wanting light to see whats around
In darkness a soldier he waits for the dawn
He prays to his god he can soon go home
In darkness our fears control all our thoughts
In light most of them are not there at all
In darkness ill slip from this place we call life
I hope after darkness there is only light
Two strapping squadies sat on a tank
Both just been for a sly ham shank
One called Peter one called Paul
Both rather partial to the others smalls

Along came the Sgt he didn't want to play
Went and told the CO he thought they were gay
Along came the MPs in their red hats
Dragged them to the guard house quick as a flash

Now a court martial and public ridicule
The Sgt said the showers where not safe at all
A dishonerable discharge for being a ***
Being a soldier was all that they had

Twenty years latter we now go to war
You love a man or woman even three or four
The Army doesnt care if you play the rear flank
So long as you can shoot to ****
Or drive a Tommy tank

Well that was then and this is now
Many came back from another gulf war
Hounded like prey by the lawyers of today
For doing exactly what the CO says

So sign up Peter sign up Paul
Do what you like with you best friends smalls
But for heaven's sake be you John or Jane
DON'T SHOOT ANYONE IN THE GOVERNMENTS
NAME!!
The mad  Military
I like to look
At the pictures of us
So I can see
Your smiling face
So that I can see
Us
Together
I like seeing those
Pictures because
When your away
I still get to see you
I can still see how amazing
You look
And remind myself
Your heart is even
More amazing
I love looking at those pictures
Because I remember
I was happy and giggling
When you took them
I love those pictures
Because they're the
Very beginning
Of our history as a couple.
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.

I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand--
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said--
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.
Danny O'Dare, the dancin' bear,
Ran away from the County Fair,
Ran right up to my back stair
And thought he'd do some dancin' there.
He started jumpin' and skippin' and kickin',
He did a dance called the Funky Chicken,
He did the Polka, he did the Twist,
He bent himself into a pretzel like this.
He did the Dog and the Jitterbug,
He did the **** and the Bunny Hug.
He did the Waltz and the Boogaloo,
He did the Hokey-Pokey too.
He did the Bop and the Mashed Potata,
He did the Split and the See Ya Later.
And now he's down upon one knee,
Bowin' oh so charmingly,
And winkin' and smilin'--it's easy to see
Danny O'Dare wants to dance with me.
