He lived a normal life.
One day something changed.
He wanted to make a difference.
He was recruited.

He left home with a short goodbye
He leaves regretting nothing
He knew he was helping
Everything he knew he left behind

Life is short spend it wisely
He thought he was
Little did he know how hard it would be
He wouldn't leave no matter how they pushed

He never quite
Never gave up
Never cried
Never left

One day he was called to war
He was the best soldier
Shooting was a specialty
He left

His new friends had to go to
Nothing would be the same
The war will begin soon now
They enter the war zone

People fall around him
Blood flies through the air
Limbs falling to the ground with a thud
Cries and prayers drowned out the gunshots

Weeks that felt like years passed quickly
Nothing was the same
Finally, him and ten others survived
Everyone was done fighting
They left

He returns home
Wounded he lays
He became a hero
An American hero has been born

I have a dream
One day each kid will believe
Each kid will discover
I have a dream

My dream shall reach every child
Each child will believe
Each child shall discover love
I have a dream

Dreams can be achieved
All children will believe
All children will discover
I have a dream
Short but sweet :)

Hunger
I see it everywhere
The only thing following is despair
My heart stops when I see them suffer
I want to help make them tougher

Helping them is my new goal
They just need food in their bowl
They have ribs, but no fats
Their minds like a stray cat's

Life can be tough to everyone here
They have nothing but a tear
They have grown familiar with the term share
Pain is something they just have to bear

If you think about what they go through
You may feel it too
They deal with it and push on
They can't sleep until well after dawn

Hunger
It hurts until you tend to it
You need food just a bit
You may not always hear the cry
It would be nice to try to help before they die
