I must have taken a wrong turn
I'll re-chart my course just in case
I feel such a strong burn
to find myself another place

he was a control freak
even to say the least
she was such an angel
he was her beast

the butterfly poets
they forgot when they crawled
they forgot about the loneliness of being inside of the cocoon

my dad was a cold and hardened man
the concept of love, he didn't understand
he had a family, didn't care for them
I never wanted to be like him

my mom was neurotic, lost in space
she was what they call a real nut case
she had a son, but it's all just a blur
I never wanted to be like her

basic thoughts lead to basic things
eventually it turns into a circle

and our minds get trapped inside

I own everything
do you know what that means?
I am like a king
because I own everything

many wants lead to many needs
eventually, leaving you starving

it's like a mental malnutrition

I have everything
but I don't know what life means
to my things I cling
I have everything

I can't believe all the lies I've bought
like, "the land of the free"
I know that an eagle can take to flight
what does that have to do with me?

this is no fun anymore
this has gotten old
she is like running water
she is hot and cold

sometimes she is so warm
sometimes not so nice
she is a burning flame
she is fire and ice

he held up a dead coyote
like he had just won first prize
smiling from ear to ear
a look of pride in his eyes

the caption said "predator control"
which brought a question to my mind
if we call survival being a predator
then what do we call our kind?

Rising tension has hit the peak
Intrepid soldiers for the weak
On the street, the numbers rise
This isn't over until we open some eyes

before I know I love you
I have to see you at your worst
love can be a blessing
it can also be a curse

before I know I love you
I have to see you at your best
I can't see the blessing
until I'm truly blessed

you are going to get them help
only after you exploit their life
you're going to pat their back
right after you insert the knife

I met an old man at the river, fishing
as we sat to wet our hooks
we talked about our hoping and wishing
exchanging our hungry looks

I said "sir, I have a lot of questions"
as I tied a line to my escape
he said " I may have answers, I reckon"
I cast my line and I said "great"

I asked him why life is so cruel
why dreams are so easily shattered
I told him that I was in pieces
and my pieces were all scattered

he said "son, we are all broken"
life is nothing but hoping and wishing
I said "truer words were never spoken"
then we went back to fishing

we need to change our misconception
we need to change our beliefs
we have to get past the surface
to what lies beneath

we don't live by our own perception
eyes are eyes, teeth are teeth
we are all so blind to seeing
what lies beneath

my hands, your hands
they were made for touching
lets go slow and easy
love wasn't meant for rushing

my heart, your heart
together they are beating
sometimes even racing
but love is never fleeting

Twelve hundred beats per minute
nature can have so much power
ready to taste your sweet nectar
ready to pollinate your flower

you never know if a person is loyal
until you, or that person dies
loyalty means loyal until death
although many of us wear that disguise
we say we are friends until the end
while we look into the eyes
meanwhile, under our breath
we are hoping for the other's demise

"familiarity breeds contempt"
the same goes for game invites

I love her more than anything
there is still something missing
something that I always long for
loving, touching, kissing

pieces scattered
from Ohio to Florida
figments or fragments
who I used to be
my thoughts are scattered
my mind tries to find
parts and pieces
that were left behind

I heard a man yelling
he was walking toward me
he said he had a bone to pick
he said he had something for me

he starting pushing me
I pulled out my razor knife
I put it to his throat
I said "I'll take your life"

I looked into his eyes
fear is all that filled them
I told him not to move
if he had, I would have killed him

I really like this buzz
give me just one more puff
when I can't get enough
give me some of that other stuff

you might act a little differently
without the camera and the crews
without medics on 24 hour call
who would help you with every bruise

survival isn't about a commercial
figures hide behind a ruse
this is a lesson for us all
survival isn't something you choose

I could eat more than a thousand Ethiopians
while 500 starve
Sometimes i get a belly ache
that's the only time life is hard

I don't need a doctor's medicine
all I need is **** and wine
I pray for heaven to let us in
I pray to an unnatural mind

I don't need the tools of society
all I need need is the test of alone
I'm not worried about my impropriety
when we die, we are only bone

I don't need a god to worship
worship means to have faith in unseen
I live life in more and more ****
I live *****, but I'll die clean

11 a.m.
i'm already on the wine
it really doesn't matter when
it's always right on time

I'm already on those thoughts
it's the same thing again
my mind keeps getting caught

they don't like you, I don't like you
I hate you too much to end this
I'd do things just to spite you
that's why you're on my friends list

when I feel the world on my back
it's like carrying a boulder
when an angel can't take away
the devil on my shoulder

the light only goes skin deep
in the eyes of this beholder
the darkness will always seep
the darker, the colder

I wake up in a shivering sweat
I feel like a wounded soldier
friendly fire can never ****
the devil on my shoulder

counting on an education
it's like counting up to ten
following the mental regulation
it's like going up, then down again

the dream of a reputation
turns into a nightmare life
flying on wings of trepidation
it only leads to falling on a knife

tired of walking on concrete paths
I want to run with the wild horses
I am capable of doing the math
different natures run different courses

break the reins and free at last
change my way, change my courses
I could run away so fast
only taking from the giving sources

they seem weak when they're alone
they are braver in numbers
they like to make lightning
then they run when it thunders
they're as cold as a stone
in the wheel that cumbers
as cold as a bone
that lies six feet under

You think a unicorn is so amazing
haven't you ever you seen a giraffe?
you go on searching for bigfoot
while the real monkeys make me laugh

we think success is built by money
haven't you ever seen a gorilla's nest?
I am still living and running
maybe those monkeys know the best

this world is built by extinction
humanity will destroy itself
the difference between instinct and distinction
those monkeys don't need nothing else

when the flame hits the green
it burns away my wasted dreams
on a smoke cloud I lean
then life is better than it seems

I lose my sight to the size of the device
lie to my eyes, lie to me twice
I'm alright but this prize just won't suffice
I'd rather fight than to try to pay the price

I lose my way in the maze that is today
they can charge me, they can't make me pay
I won't stay unless they take it all away
I will not be a slave to the ways of the prey

never believe in what you know
only believe in the mystery
let's look up, and not below
forget our history

don't believe in what you see
only believe in what you're thinking
look forward, that's where you'll be
looking back is sinking

like a lone wolf, I am away from the pack
with the mange eating me, i'm fast to attack
when his matriarch has fallen through the cracks
the dominant male is always looking back

they don't know about reality
they are trapped in a place that only has television

i was there, i held the door open
i was left standing, waiting and hoping
i was bare,  i was so broken
i am still in pieces, just living and coping

one more sip and i'm hitting the road
life is just a walk in the park, or so i'm told
passing strangers who have a hand to hold
man, this park is getting old

I want to be the world's oldest living person and I don't care if I have to **** everybody to reach my goal!

let's all pity her because she ate too much

now she needs help just to bathe

nevermind the starving ones
they aren't worth our thinking
they don't bring any sponsors
like the ones we watch, unblinking

she was telling me about someone who died
I just couldn't wrap my head around it
it never made any peace in my mind
peace, only the dead have found it

can you you really make me think?
can you help with the thoughts I can't find?
can you tell me I am not alone on the brink?

can you make me forget what I despise?

he tried all his life for the best credit rating
he died the day he reached his goal
there are no bill collectors in heaven waiting
they're all waiting down below

he arrived in hell and the devil was grinning
satan was smiling from ear to ear
"why did you take me, I was winning?"
"your credit is no good here"

one more glass of wine
just to get past the passing time
I am first to be the last in line
I fill up this glass of mine

cheap wine and expensive thoughts
the price I pay will equal out
so many bottles and lies I've bought
it leaves me drunk with doubt

everytime I hold my head up
the sun only burns my eyes
hot enough to wake the dead up
these thoughts don't compromise

every time I put my foot down
I step on the broken glass
I search, but nothing good's found
just a burning that always lasts
