I am constantly surrounded
exhausted
exploited
by opinions
that mean nothing to me
constantly searching
screeching
for something
that makes sense
to me

You colour me differently
now
once you painted me in bright pink
with orange edges
now you colour me grey
with a dash of blue
are your crayons
running short?

There are but
two words
that matter in my
world
and  in my heart

my  crazy family
maybe that makes it

stifled  our children’s
cries

like clowns

carrying my own cross

I started at nine
I left at five
I rarely smiled
There is no exception to the rule

be that cruel

I’m not so impressed with
the big parts of you
but I am totally and completely
in love
with the little bits of you
the crumbs of you
left scattered on the ground
when the world
decides

If i could scream
out loud

Maybe some random
passerby
might not dismiss
the noise
as a weird animal

I think others might deserve it more
It’s not that I don’t like the attention
