to nowhere specific
but loving

it is not worthy
anymore.

just can’t help thinking
shame

You burn me
not so much that anyone can see the
scorch
on my palm
my hand
my face
my soul
pain that leaves no mark
is a true artist’s
greatest work

There are seven
wonders of the world
and three of them
are sitting here
right here
right now
at home
with me.

if it all fell apart tomorrow
and why wouldn’t it
I would still applaud  the
fact
that we tried

are just a tale of
a heart
defining chance

she had no choice

in the dead of the night

my voice is a burden

my words a worry

my serious about serious

my noisiness about noise
you don’t need
my simpleness about simple
you don’t need
my pureness about pure
you don’t need
my world upon yours
you really  really
don’t need
my version of love
you honestly don't need.

Here’s a poem about nothing
because nothing says more
than the rest of us could ever say
if we tried all day tomorrow
and the rest of today

Your love hit me
like a bullet in the dark
it came from nowhere
but it’s surely left its mark

Today surprised  me
I wasn’t
expecting
the sun!

These are little pieces
in the real world
fragments that
have become undone
if you reach to touch them
they will disappear
like smoke upon touch
the little pieces
that today
seem so much

Let me be the youngest
and say
somehow
we went astray
but there is no rulebook
that says
we have to stay
this  way.

When did we become a
love song
that no one sings
anymore

There is nothing much worth
saving here

except perhaps our child

all night
yet still
barely
erase
my lie

They are grown men now
I watch over  them from afar
they have their wives and rings
and slings
and other things
that bind them
and make them sing
sometimes I want to scoop them up
one in each arm
like long ago
throw them in the back of my car
and sing out loud
ridiculous
melodies
laugh out loud
to
lyrics
born
inside my car.

I heard what you said
about the end of me
and you
I still love you
enough
to never
tell anyone
it
simply
is
not true
but
we both know  
that
you know that
too.

I don’t need to know
the way home
I might not be heading
that way

You dropped our love today
I think when you left early
for work
I saw it as I left with the kids
tossed to the side
I think the postman caught it
in his heel

I am searching for
myself
and those I do not know
deep in a world
where truth is not
the enemy

I’ve made it this far
nothing or no one
not even you
will drag me back
to  what I am running
from.
