To live is to suffer
But the more we do
The less we want to

A year ends, once again
Bad things occurred
But why blame the year?
It would've happened no matter the number
Because, we made up that number.

Perfection depends on perspective
So why waste time
Chasing after inconsistencies?

The fool
Believes he is right
While the genius
Knows he could be wrong

Strong eat the weak
But for parasites
The weak become a part of the strong

To one person
Good may be bad
To another
Bad may be good
But what is the difference?
In reality:
They never truly existed

People love to give advice
Yet never follow their own wisdom

Faster innovation
Leaves more left behind
How long until the future
Leaves me?

Idolizing a person
Will not heal a fractured heart
It will only remain
Broken, unrefined

If everything is subjective
Why do we argue
When none of us right?

Lost our heart
Lost our spark
What we lose today
Resides in the dark

A daily mantra:
Talk is cheap, actions speak louder
Why do we trust product marketing
If talk is all they can afford?

The greatest tragedies come from
The shortcomings of society

People in power
Will want more power
For they are afraid
Of losing all their power.

If only I knew
How bad things would get
Then I'd appreciate
Every second of my past

The angels present themselves
Roaming throughout the earth
Shunning evil
Flocks and herds
Who escaped
To warn those they cannot save

A picturesque visage
Defiantly cut off
From wilderness
In custody, to future generations

Twisted, contorted, distorted
Familiar visages
Hidden in strange scenery
Always drawing clocks--
Using time to draw time

Regulation prohibits fact
Precipitated by punishment
Concluding with tolerance

The community leaders
Heads of the clans
Shine toward peace
Yet, they cast a shadow
Anointed with power

fading
faster
happy memories
pushed out
in favor of lesser replacements
is this what it means to live?

Sons of the priest
Wash water
To burn it all on the altar
Every offering, pleasing
Crumbled, into essence

He was a fine child
But, no longer
He killed and hid the ruler
And asked God
"Are you with me? Or am I a fool on the mountaintop?"
The wind howled
But provided no answers.

In the beginning
Darkness hovered over the waters
There was light
Good and separated from the darkness
Signs, to mark days and years
It was good
Mankind, sullied it all

The man who knew everything
Would not make it known
For if he knew all things
He would prefer to die, alone

Utopia
A fool's future
The day we ask for one
Becomes the day of our downfall

Societal evolution
Should simplify scenarios
Yet in our modern times
Which rapidly change
Things only got convoluted

The one who has no love
Lives without a future

Flawed leaders govern flawlessly
Flawless leaders lie to themselves
So, why wouldn't they lie to you too?

A son of the sun
Never knew how to have fun
The only thing he ever did under the sun?
Run.
Away from what?
Circumstances in which he was living
Cat and mouse game, incredibly driven
By a desire to be happy
No matter if it meant
An absence of ambrosia

Reflections change perception
Make those weak, vulnerable to deception
From the moment of its inception:
Do we truly know who we are?

Tick
Tock
Click of a clock
Every time the pendulum swings
We lose cherished things

We live in a time
Of impossible expectations
That require immediate solutions
Maybe that's why
We're all mad, down here

At the root of every conflict:
Two scared people
Who both beg
For a solution to come

Wake up one day

Where everything was a marvel-

Fading stars
Never go far
Black like tar
Only got enough to buy a beat-up car

All things that just bring us stress

Copperhead
More crooked than a cop
Bloodlust that just wont stop

Can’t drop the violence
Screams snuffed by the raindrops
Humanity as the backdrop
Year of perfect vision
Growing further apart, division

Philosophy is antiquity
But much like the past
We must remember it well.

Broken systems
Yield broken results

A storm
That is what sorrow is
Momentary sadness
That too will pass
A pestilence
That is what depression is
A permanent purgatory
That will stay
But this too shall pass
Both depend
On acknowledging it exists

Used for temporary results
And permanent trauma

Two sides
Seeking a way
To save themselves
In a world
With borrowed time

Change takes time
That's why patience is a virtue

Good with no evil
One must exist
For there is nothing

Truly
We have always been equal
Labels, rewards, titles
These are what drive us apart

Not shy
Just know
When words are required
And when action is necessary

If we were born
To exist in this world
Why are we not comfortable?
Constantly escaping
Into fabricated fantasies

Learn to survive
Discover how to live
