Empathy
In an apathetic world
Covered up with a shirt
Stitched together with pandemonium

One day
The automatic doors
Recognize my presence
Shifting apart
Like the gates of heaven
Except if heaven
Sold two-dollar hotdogs
Along with one dollar pretzels
Grabbed the usual:
Jerkey
Chips
Soda
Nothing else to it
I felt like being a little crazy
So I grabbed a chocolate bar too
Such an adventurer.
To my surprise behind the counter
An older gentleman
Whistled away
As if there was joy in such a place
One by one
Totaled up the items
Then it slipped out:
"I gotta say, sir, why do you still work here?"
Did I offend?
I pray not
For the rage of an old man
Cannot be tempered
He gave a chuckle
Put down the bar and said
"Well, I'm not dead yet...
...might as well go out, meet some new friends."

Waiting for a train
That will never come
Left the station
Disregarded the nation
Chance to fight
For peace
Safety
Sanctuary
Denied.
By the one thing to deliver me
Into corruption
Soon to be snuffed out
By me.
Others may not agree
Yet this is how it shall be
Eliminate all
For their empire to fall.

Like a storm that you can't predict
Nature of the trick
So unusual
No longer useable
In the remnants of reality
Use it wisely, just like all things
A weapon or a solution?
Up to what your consciousness dictates.

We never evolved.

I miss her

Poison digested ages ago
