four hours between then and now
do you know, i never quite knew
the day you were born
i ask you always, in the times we setttle

say, what is it you want from us
a future in which
i provide you with purpose
to me, perhaps something dear

we talk and i never quite
catch a glimpse of you,
though rarely, you dance
shimmering in the same lights
i once found something akin
to an unfathomable beauty
so clear,
im mistaken, it might be alive

a part of you sits so close to my heart
along the outlines, such parameters
pulling and pushing, betwixt
a life we could
a life we will never

How did you get here?
Trapped indefinitely in our own outer space
All I can do is paint out your face
How you would look in all these views

If you could feel it too
You could have given me answers
But you let our hearts beat two by two
Rhythm to  the metronome, little dancers

Instead you decided to spare the mention
Of disloyalty, mistrust and teenage loves misdirection

It's the 3rd of May
Time to make haste
Knock the teabag, watching her sway

I thought that day
Father must have done the same
What would he have changed
Being one critical call away
Before his son marked a grave
