In memory of a much loved and respected poet / / Patrick' Paddy' Martin / / / / / Among the vibrant shades / Of floral displays / An angel walks and calls his name / / "Poet" / "Poet" / "Compose me sonnet" / / "One so free, with wings upon it" / / From within the trees / Of golden leaves / The poet emerged with a smile / / With his crystal book / And pen in hand / He wrote in heavenly style / / My words have long since left me / But I feel them just the same / My heart once sang with melody / To those who knew my name / / And now I'm here in the gardens above / Where the flowers bloom in bliss / I still look back and smile with love / To the heart's I'll always miss / / But know I'm safe and sound up here / Where poems flow in the streams / You'll find me here without a tear / Where God holds all of my dreams / / I send to you, a sonnet so true / Upon wings of love to comfort you. / / / The angel smiled / / "I adore your style" / / "It's as pretty as the flowers you tend to" / / -------- / / / Rest in peace mate
