One handed melody
picks out a tune
a delightful sequence of notes
improvised
mystery behind every corner
in single notes thirds, fourths and fifths
the music's adventure blooms
in this one handed melody*
as my other hand brushes my teeth

I was playing piano while brushing my teeth last night.
And this morning I was eating a bannana, so I typed this poem one handed too! Lol.
I guess I've been multi-tasking alot lately.

Oh butterfly how gracefully you fly through the woods

the sun glows on your beautiful wings as you fly

you come down for a landing on a rock in the gently

flowing stream to get a drink

then you take off to fly away to a daisy

I wrote this when I was seven.

Evening meadow in November
Glowing in sun's golden ember
Wind whispers in the grasses
Kestral screeching as he passes
Giant storm clouds in the distance
But above my head the sky is clear
Birds singing in persistance
Calling for the attention of my ear

True story. I wrote this while hiking at one of my favorite spots.

A silent peace...... so quiet..... so still

a winter field...... so soft and tranquil

misty frost glows on every grass blade

while creation sings " I am what God has made."

though nothing moves, and all seems dead

gentle sunlight flows promising new life instead

I wish I could post the photo that inspired this.

Walking along the path today
I spotted the humming bird

he hovered
s l o w l y   r o s e
until almost out of sight

Then in the blink of an eye
he made a terrific dive
and hovered once more
and repeated his question:

"Darling do you love me? Will you be my bride?
Will you raise your lovely children, with me by you side?
Will you marry me?"

slowly again he rose and dove
repeating
"(my) Love?!"

Today I saw a Rufous Hummingbird while on a walk.  He was making a courtship display. It was very lovely to watch, especially the sudden, tremendous dive! I imagined the lighthearted chatter to his beloved as his porposal in the poem. And the sudden sound he made at the end of his dive as "Love?!"

Too many ways to go
as many as the wind could blow
I'm left relying on your hand to show
the way which only you before hand know

This is about what path to choose for my life's work.
