Let them be
All they asked for was
To let them be
Let them live in their
Happy go lucky worlds
Where Santa is real
Blessings from tooth fairys
Matter more than all the expensive gifts
They could ever get
Let them live in their
Dream worlds
Where rainbows come
From pots of gold
And rivers flow
With chocolate syrups
Let them be
Where they are
And who they are
Why strip them
Of their innocence
Why drag them in the
Adult world already
Why give them bitter experiences
Of the real world already
Why tell them that as you
Grow up things will get tougher
Why tell them that to live a life
You will have to fight for yourself
Why scare them about their own safety
Or tell them that at any point in life
They might find themselves in a nuclear war
Between countries
Let them be
Where they are
Let them dream of a happy
Joyful world
Where there is endless love
And the smallest amount
Of hate
Let them be
How they want to be
This is a request to everybody who
Know what I mean
Just let them be
Just let them be
