ice age

snow, and rain, and icy sleet
frozen noses, frozen feet
chattering teeth beneath blue lips
grasping with black and purple fingertips
sluggish heart, lazy veins
greetings thunder like passing trains
your icicle eyes and your stone-cold gaze
bite through my bones, bruises for days

an ice age (or two) since last we met
but your frigid grin won't let me forget
