I cried,
Day and night,
Because I wasn’t perfect.
I tried to stay away from the sun,
So I could get fair.
I had stopped eating so I could get thin,
When I was 11 years old,
I had stopped gaining height,
They said “You’re so small, nobody can tell the difference between you and a toe nail”.
But the day she came
She whispered in my ear,
“don’t you ever let their thoughts grab you,
Let them say you are fat,
Because they don’t know you are the one who smells the fresh roses first.
Let them say you are small,
Because they won’t grasp the fact,
That you would be the first person to smell all the fresh flowers.
Let them talk about your complexion,
Because they won’t realize that the moon was shinning in front of them”.
DON’T YOU DARE!.
