Towards the flame
I'm edging so
I know it burns me
But I want to know
The warmth inside
Its fiery glow
So, marching forward
I blindly go

The tongue it kissed
My finger tips
It singed my skin
And touched my lips
It whispered thoughts
Into my ear
Of perfect love
With one so dear

I bite. It's promise
Seems far too real
To pass up on
This chance to feel
The passion for
This one so sweet
This heat and wonder
Full of deceit

**** this foolish
Heart of mine
It breaks so easy
It takes much time
To mend the wounds
Of blackened lungs
From breathing smoke
Where love has stung.
For not being able to shy away from human nature
