I remember the past and what it has brought me
I often forget how it was then compared to now

The farther I go back the more I see

We used to flow together like water

As the time goes by
Happiness turns into madness
And we don't know why
At first ignoring each other was just a game
Then it started to become a part of the picture frame
It seems that we’re both to stubborn to admit we’re wrong
But when worse comes to worse we gather up the courage to remember the song
A beat that plays throughout you and me
And although we don't see eye to eye
The music will continue to play through the fire
And even if the beat of our song changes melody
I still want to be apart of the duet we were meant to be
It doesn't have to be the same as before but we can improvise and make it better
