Time laughs on an airplane
Knowing things will never be the same
For them, two best friends,
Dancing like there will be no end,
Like Life will always be tame.

But, ah, there’s the flame!
Only memories will remain
(They will burn until they break);
Time laughs.

It all feels like a race, a game
They look back at it all with such disdain;
They used to dance, used to send
Each other letters, would defend
Each other’s names…
Time laughs.
