In the matter of limning beauty and truth
Through the mists of negative capability
Through the chaos of personalities and life

Iambs stretched neatly out in flowing lines
Are aesthetically pleasing in themselves
But even the cleverest metrical feet
Should in their ordered elegance speak for good

Poets can lie, or be perceived to lie
But in your beauty is truth, truth passing by
