I've been doing eye surgery.
I can finally begin to see the world
as I used to.

Blueberry soda
and orange sherbert ice cream.
Strolls with cousins and
little rhymes within mom's
metaphors.
She had eyes in the back of her head
that cast light into our hearts
that she had birthed from nothing.
