If the truth
Can set you free
Why do you
Deny your history
Whether or not
It’s blistery?
In truth and fact
That’s the mystery

Why is it so
Important to hide
The history that you
Refuse to confide?
As a matter of fact
You’ve outright lied
And sought to have
The truth denied

You can’t change
Your history
But the future can be
What it’s made to be
And what shouldn’t be
That hard to see
Is the irony
In my dichotomy

For the past
You can be forgiven
If you can change
The way that you’re living
Whether or not
You find it misgiven
That’s the direction in which
You should be driven
