I can’t believe I fell for this man
For his delicacy and tranquility
His astute thoughts, his creative heart
His mellow caramel eyes so compulsive
Like flawless blossoms, like thrilling
Whiskey, infusing me with feverishness

And when he smiled so dashingly
I thought I was about to crash
Into a million masterful mansions
Still staring at his brilliant view
Wondering how I allowed myself
To get into this predicament

He was like a great white swan
Like a glorious, orange-bellied parrot
Like a magnificently untamed Transvaal lion
Everything I could ever think of that
Glistened like a garden of ardent star jasmines
A cloud of light brightening more than ever
