Feb 2021
eyes that don’t seem to see,
hair that no longer bothers me
and i’m finding it a little harder to breathe.

a paranoid mind that can finally sleep,
a multitude of quiet thoughts that now scream at me
and i can hear that child’s choked plea:

“i can’t breathe.”
